Even last year, when he was in his purple patch, we looked much betterDan is increasingly becoming one of our most important players.
I’ve heard that storyShould have called him Shane. He hates that.

I never really get that defence of Kane. Yes, he is capable of analysis but he chooses to be the shock jock. It's not the job, because only a few other media pinheads try to make their names hanging their hats on shit takes. He could be a Leigh Montagna, but he wants to be a dickhead troll.Don’t really mind Kane Cornes that much. He says some dumb things but it’s pretty much the job, and he is capable of some decent analysis.

I think that’s mostly rage bait. Reid, Watson, Morris, O’Sullivan, McKercher all have good cases to be above Curtin so far. The others, especially Walter, don’t.Come on, Kane. If you’re going to troll, at least try and make it believable View attachment 2630798
He needs to pick one.
Either be the serious guy who does the analysis, or be the Sam Maclure shock jock who looks for controversy.

Can we encourage him to run to Auckland?![]()
We’ve been over this a million times. He’s said publicly he models himself on American sports media people who spout strong opinions for engagement. Negative engagement is still engagement. He can’t adopt 100% wild wrong positions or everyone would ignore him. But he can sprinkle in some rage bait and slightly OTT harsh truths and suddenly he’s the centre of the conversation. You can hate it but it is working a treat for him.He needs to pick one.

it's lucky for him his name is Cornes.Wait! Are you telling me Curtain is just into his 3rd AFL season?Don’t really mind Kane Cornes that much. He says some dumb things but it’s pretty much the job, and he is capable of some decent analysis.
I think if you’re taking the ‘re-draft’ angle seriously and not just ranking players based on performance though you’d have Curtin higher than 11th based on potential though. He’s certainly behind some of those guys based on performance, given he’s a tall and has had an injury interrupted third season. But based on potential I’d be drafting him something like 5th.

Unfortunately shock jock pays much, much better. He needs to pick one.

Kane gets so much air time, views and engagement because of the controversy he creates. I think he’s smart enough to have worked that out.
If the order was based on performance to date then fine. Perhaps one or two changes. But Curtin has only played ~60% of the afl games he could have since he’s been on the list.I think that’s mostly rage bait. Reid, Watson, Morris, O’Sullivan, McKercher all have good cases to be above Curtin so far. The others, especially Walter, don’t.
Arguably Curtin 2nd half last year was much better than CoS and McKercher 1st half this year.I think that’s mostly rage bait. Reid, Watson, Morris, O’Sullivan, McKercher all have good cases to be above Curtin so far. The others, especially Walter, don’t.
Yean hes not a bad guy. He is there to make contentious opinions that stir up debate, and he is the best in the media at doing it.I have heard he is a pretty decent guy out of the media and his very early media work on 5AA while playing (before Crocmedia) showed that as well.
He seems to have been given the media hitman role Crocmedia wanted. It earns him good coin. And he is happy to do it.
I am guessing his initial.plan was probably MFS/5AA roles. But when Crocmedia came knocking he took the more financial deal even if it means playing a villian.
He still annoys me with some of his takes, especially re: the Crows but he has definitely grown on me over time...I love his Fireball Friday segment on SEN with Kingy, they work well together...And rightfully so

So don’t judge him on how he behaves?Yean hes not a bad guy. He is there to make contentious opinions that stir up debate, and he is the best in the media at doing it.
