Hi guys,

I must admit I only caught Fox replays of the games last night but looking at the numbers Daniel Harris put in a couple of good games. He was a personal favourite of mine at North and I thought he was pretty unlucky to lose his spot on the list.

What are the internal thoughts on him, because I think he is an absolute belter of a clubman and an underrated centreman who could have a strong season for the Suns?

He looked insanely fit. Loved seeing him go around again, considering he was such a great person for North.

Hopefully he can put in a couple good years with the Suns, because if anyone deserves a premiership from the Gold Coast, it would be Harro.

Seems to have trimmed down a lot from his NM days and picked up a yard of pace. Still not quick but that's not a problem here as he has plenty of quick players around him. Will add valuable experience to a young side and extracting ability. A real credit to him to make it back to the big time :thumbsu:

PS guys - could you please post about individual players in the players list sub-forum rather than create a new thread. Cheers.

My son's favourite player (Who's Gary Ablett??)
Loved his work at North and will probably hold his spot this year, but he's a stable pony for the young thoroughbreds and will struggle from 2012 I'd reckon
Love the guy though..didn't moan when NMFC shafted him, just got on with life.

Was hoping he would land at the pies after he was delisted, good to see him stick at it and make it with the GC. Some good experience to help gazza out in the middle.

never really rated him at north melbourne, but looks comfortable at his new home being the gold coast. will be valuable around the stoppages along with swallow and ablett in what looks like a damaging starting midfield

Good onya Harro! Great to see him back at AFL level. Absolute favourite of mine. Looks like he will be a more than handy player for you guys, gets the footy and has superfast hands. "Go Harro" will be a return to a familiar shout :-)

An article on Harris on the Herald Sun website today:

Daniel Harris hungry for second chance at Gold Coast Suns

DANIEL Harris is ready to show the Kangaroos what they've lost in his second chance at an AFL career with the Gold Coast Suns.

Harris thought his AFL career was over when he was axed by the Roos at the end of 2009 after 149 games.

That was until Suns coach Guy McKenna came knocking -- offering him the chance to rejuvenate his AFL career on the Gold Coast.

The catch was he would have to play a year of VFL first with a group made up predominantly of teenagers.

Not for a second did he think it was beneath him and jumped at the opportunity.

In the Suns' AFL opener on April 2 against Carlton at the Gabba, he will play his 150th match.

It is a honour he has earned.

It's always good to see a player turn his career around :thumbsu:

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. You can just merge it with the actual player thread.

If he can play like this consistently, I think he would be a chance of winning the B&F for the Suns.

This guy looks seriously motivated.

Nice pick up for you guys.

Was one of my all time fav's at North. I was absolutely furious at laidley when he was delisted. I could see the potential in him. He is the reason I have taken up supporting the suns as my 2nd team.

Is he injured? 8 SC points in his last match??

There's a rumor flying around that he's got some back injury. The only thing I can find on it is here. And then even the posters at the bottom of that cannot find any news sources.

...don’t know what’s going on with Harris’ back, but in the absence of any concrete bad news I think the upside is great enough to hold the line.

That's pretty much it. Haven't found anything concrete really. Nothing official yet. Maybe he did his back in when bowling at Strike Bowl?

As a former North supporter and now proud Suns member I am wrapped to see Harro getting another chance, he wasn't used well at North under Laidley and hopefully he can flourish in a more running style of game.

He looks super fit from when I went and watched training. I hope he has a great year. What a great person to have playing with some of our young guns, will be a good player this year and his personal qualities / leadership etc will greatly assist the next superstars of our game. :thumbsu:
