Which was reportedly knocked back from the Bris end

Really. i dont rate rich as a pick 4.

If rich just has a normal year and he is happy to come west i would offer pick 12 (if that was our first rounder) and ebert/rosa.

Im not really happy to trade away a top ten pick. Atleast not a pick thats lower than 8. I dont want brisbane making a profit of him.

Kerr for Rich. Opens up plenty of options for salary cap

The thing that could possibly help us with Rich if we do want him - is he can bluff the GWS option.

Brisbane would either get an end of 1st round compo pick or perhaps a 1st round pick after their 1st selection.

If it's the former than the offer of our first round pick would suffice.

If it's the latter - then it would depend on where we finish on the ladder compared to Brisbane.

Always been a big fan of Rich - would prefer to see him come back to WA than take the money at GWS.

I read the rumour about you blokes chasing him here - quotes from Rich's manager are pretty inconclusive.

WEST Coast Eagles management will launch an ambitious plan next week in a bid to win the playing services of looming AFL midfield star Daniel Rich away from Brisbane.

......

Connors confirmed his appointment at West Coast, but is not expected to hold discussions with Fremantle with Dockers list manager Brad Lloyd operating from Melbourne.

“I’m going to the west as part of my normal management duties for all of my players in the west,” Connors said.

“It is normal business to get a feel for what the clubs might have in mind for the guys and I haven’t actually had any formal chats with Craig Vozzo at West Coast since he joined the club.”

There is an aticle on Sports News First website saying his manager has an appointment with West coast next week and that we are preparing to scoup him next year .

Someone posted the article but I think anything from Sports News First is automatically deleted :o

He is coming back to Perth , seems highly likely ' hopefully the deal is done without too much PAIN

Worst part about the article is that it says Rich is a key part of our future midfield plans....

Does that mean we are screwed without him?

I dunno about screwed. But it would really add to our depth! I would love to see him playing for us. It would give the fans some much needed confidence too!

Was reported on the radio we are making a bid for him.

I dont see how thats possible as its illegal for us to do so isnt it?

Happens all the time Bod - think back 3 years. You dont need to induce anybody to break a contract you just simply advise the player through his manager how good life is back home, how his friends and family are missing him terribly, and how money is not a problem should he be keen to relocate.

Its simply a measure of sowing some seeds and seeing what grows

"Rich is a Western Australian product and understood to be a key component in West Coast’s on-field recovery plan after suffering a stark decline since 2007 as a genuine premiership force."

We really do need him. Imagine a midfield of Naitanui Shuey Gaff Sheppard Rich Masten Swift SSelwood Stevens. Now that will win us a Premiership!

Natanui
Shuey
Rich
S.Selwood/Masten/Kerr/Swift/Gaff/Stevens

Would make me cream my pants Rd. 1 2012.

But if he goes GWS, it means we can't lose Leuey or Clark as well to them, unless we agree to it. If we agree to trade Rich to WC, as opposed to him going to GWS and receiving compensation, we could still lose Clark or Leuey to GWS.

Either way Brisbane is going to get screwed. It's a shame for your club.
