There is no chance we will pick rich up, as much as i like him port, or essendon arnt that stupid not to take him. Hes a great player and will be a hard running gun. If we could get him i would go him easy

I find it pretty entertaining seeing people say they know what will happen. "Oh if so and so is available i guarantee this team will take him" or "this team is interested in so and so", seriously, who are you kidding

Some of the **** on the Draft and Trading board is really starting to get to me, i really can't wait 8 or so days for this to end. No one knows anything, why would any recruiters reveal their information to some random fella?

Good, got that off my chest :p

I'm not someone who acts like I'm a draft guru and have all the inside sources, we might not take him as there are conflicting reports.

Sorry for making it seem like i was directing it at you, i actually wasn't. Just over these fellas i've never seen before saying positions are set in stone.

According to todays Herald Sun.

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,24683176-19742,00.html

If Rich is ignored by the Dockers, and given he is a Perth youngster it would be a massive call, then it's possible he could even slip through to pick six.
Port Adelaide's believed desire is for Hartlett, while Essendon, with pick No. 5, is expected to go for a key position player with Mal Michael retired and Dustin Fletcher, Matthew Lloyd and Scott Lucas not that far away from doing so.
That player would be Tyrone Vickery, leaving the Blues to have the luxury of adding Rich to a midfield containing Chris Judd, Mark Murphy, Nick Stevens and Bryce Gibbs.

:D:thumbsu:

Such is the physiological testing done on the youngsters these days, that there have even been concerns raised about the length of his arms, prompting some recruiters to question whether his aerial skills will be below par in the more competitive AFL arena.

He also is perceived by some as having a mature body, meaning there may be minimal room for development compared to some youngsters who are yet to hit the weight room.
I understand they're trying to split the players when they have an early pick.

Yet it's an amazing comment when Sam Mitchell and Joel Selwood aren't high marking players with Walker's speed and endurance.

Don't draft pure footballers.

LOL. :o

Hard to see Rich slipping past Essendon or Port.

But another player might if Essendon draft Vickery.

I guess Freo are after Hartlett if that article mention Hill for Freo. ;) :D
No Yarran or Hartlett for Carlton.
Turned down Judd, but got a ripper in Hodgey
Boxall is excited about this year's draft, even if the Hawks don't enter it until pick 16, the price you pay for winning a flag.

He can't separate two youngsters when it comes to choosing the most talented.

"I think the most talented player is Hamish Hartlett. His balance, he can dance like Fred Astaire. Hang on, Jack Watts is so quick and agile, maybe put them equal."

I don't know, I'm sort of sold now on Rich if he lands to 6. I'm very intersted in Hartlett as well but i understand the need for someone like Hurley.

I don't bloody know but what i do know is that this is one of the most exciting drafts that i can remember. And we don't even have pick1!!

Ditto.
This boy can kick and would sure up our backline nicely.
Not the fastest around but with speedy flankers we would do just fine for mine.

I'd develop him as a forward to be truthful. IMO, he'd almost be wasted in the backline.

As I have said many times, the best game I saw him play was when he played as a foward, and kicked 8.

I'd cry if Rich fell to the Blues knowing that they'll become a dynasty and have the greatest midfield of all time.
This could still eventuate if we draft Hartlett. ;)

Though it looks like Port or Essendon will draft Hartlett if Rich doesn't slip.

If the reports on Rich's engine are true, I don't see WC (tend to prefer high endurance types) or Freo who are looking for leg speed, and both play on the expanses of Subiaco will draft Rich. Where he goes after that will quite obviously depend on a combination of club needs and where he is ranked. Port sound like they have decided to me. Rich 5-7.

Reading that article today, he did a 10.7 last year but got it up to 13 this year, how much more improvement does he have left in him? Not sure, but for a full-time midfielder that's pretty worrying.

Why do you say that?

Why do you say that?

Yes, it's a terrible worry, and just a gut feel.

My only problem with rich is if he plays that means Grigg or Bentick a out of the side and they do tagging roles.( and you need a couple of them) also we can have the best mid. But that wont win all your games. Like Geelong? Have one of the greast midfielders of all time and their Forwards let them down. im with Hurley or Vickory:thumbsu:
