Let`s face it , this bloke is easily the hottest topic on the Richmond board in the history of bigfooty .... every week a new thread bobs up .

We love and thrive on it , it warms the cockels of our hearts .

So i propose we "sticky" a permanent Danny Frawley thread in his honour . Where we can share our little anecdotes , laugh in bemusement in his antics , regail each other with this constant source of lunacy ..... a thread in the great mans honour . Adding to it on a constant basis as the "legend" grows

Whenever life is getting to much for us , our burdens overcome us , we can pop on Big Footy to catch up with the latest Spud offerings to put a little sparkle in our day ..... a little cyberspace pick me up to get us up and going again .

A "homage" , if you will

It will no doubt end up like the "what are they listening to now" thread on the music board .

one of only 3 coaches to get us to finals since 1980 .yep he was a joke.doesnt say much for the rest of the coaches weve had does it.?

Agreed. Bash Danny Frawley all you like, but you can't balme him for signing players on rediculous contracts in the mid to late nineties that kept us near %100 of the salary Cap which stopped us from participating in preseason Drafts ( s. Powell, Craig Bolton.... and many more could have been on our list) and rookie listing players.
He took us from a rable to a prelim in his second season.
Yes he made many mistakes concerning our list but show some respect to the man that gave us many of our core senior group now.
He was Honest, hard working and I truly believe his heart was all Richmond when he was here.

God help Wallace if we have a tough couple of seasons. Knives will be out again.

Anybody see this man displaying his tactical coaching genius today on TFS, as usual he was talking like he knows everything when they were talking about Sydney vs Freo next week and they were talking about who Freo should play on Goodes, and the big dud shows us all just how clueless he really is declaring the dockers should take Matthew Pavlich, arguably the best CHF in the league out of the foward line and put him in the midfield on Goodes. Seriously i still cant believe we allowed a man with so little knowledge coach and decimate our list for 5 long years

Not a bad move IMO. Would bring Pav into the game and supply Freo with more midfield drive which they missed against freo. Pav was wasted in the forword line in the second and third quarters against Adelaide.

And no I'm not a Frawley lover.

He also recruited King, Sziller, Fiora and Hudson. You want me to name the other duds?

He stood on Gaspar and Holland's doorstep and cried his little eyes out and offered them elite level salaries so they wouldnt leave.

The best thing about Miller was that when he came on board, he took over final say on player recruitment and contracts. Frawley was totally hopeless in this area. You can blame Beck all you like, but final say was always Frawleys before Miller arrived. Beck was just there to do th4e field work.

But don`t we see the irony in Danny even mentioning the name "Pavlich"

Half the cannon fodder on the Richmond board would be instantly wiped away if Pavlich was in a Richmond jumper RE our backline and Fiora .

Actually heard another Frawley gem the other weekend... when talking about how to win a flag ... he mentioned two main ingredients .... the first one captain obvious pointed out was depth in the mid-field rotations and the second one was .... wait for this .... "A battering ram to come off the bench"

I reckon people are actually a little hard on Clinton King , he was half decent till he broke his leg , just didn`t have the minerals to do the necessary work/rehab to get over it .

Duncan Kellaway could kick it further and more accurately. I'd rate him as one of the softest kicks I've ever seen at Punt Rd.

But agree that in terms of Frawley's record on recruitiment, there was plenty worse than him.

Frawley was illiterate.

Frawley played in the worst team of his era and,along with his supporting backline, conceeded more goals than any in his tenure as full back for the saints.

Frawley's self belief was annoyingly based on a career of losing.

Frawley had no game plan and for that matter knew not what one was.

Frawley is the best example of one slipping into the system and proving himself to be more stupid and talentless in his chosen field than any other human being in the history of the game.

Frawley was,

"People have been telling me my whole life that I cant do things and i just keep proving them wrong"
