He had a bad game but I would play him in NSW next week.

Cox kicked one goal in the scratch match.........doesn’t inspire much confidence.

The match committee will make the right decision, poor game but I won’t right him off. Was out marked one on one on a number of occasions. Meanwhile Casboult had a blinder for the Blues, I was very keen on him coming to the pies. 5 tackles to Darcy though will be a big tick for Bucks.

Cameron was absent today, just making up numbers. That is neither a good or bad thing for me, just what it was. It's what his 4th game at the AFL level and he was signed as a development project, not an immediate first teamer, a spotlight into which he has been thrust. This match simply reinforces that point.

Personally I think in a 40+ point win we can forgive a lot. St. Kilda wasn't putting up a tremendous amount of resistance, so we didn't need to bomb to a tall forward. Let's agree this is not what we want to see every week, but let's not write the kid off as belonging in the East Siberian Sunday kick-to-kick league on this one performance; he made a good showing last week with 8 marks

And Cox kicked TWO goals in round 1 of the AFL season...

Meanwhile has Cameron even had a shot on goal yet? How can anyone rate Cameron over Cox at this stage? Cox is a proven AFL quality forward, AND a much better ruck than Cameron. Cameron couldn't even provide a contest tonight, regularly got outmarked... was terrible.

Some of these "scratch matches" are 12-14 a side with players playing for the opposition, they're completely meangingless.

He had a Cox game. Mason has played this poorly 30-40 times.

Would give him another go in his home state.

Cox hasn’t had a 2 disposal game since 2017.
2018- averaged 10 disposals
2019 - averaged 9 disposals - which includes 2 injury interrupted games.

So that’s wrong.

Last year he kicked at least a goal in 12/14 games.

He averaged 1.7 marks inside 50. That’s just marks, not disposals, contests etc. Cameron HASNT touched the ball inside 50.

Cox ain’t no superstar. However, he’s no dud. His really poor games were in 2016/2017. He’s not that bad anymore.

I can't see how he'll survive at the selection table this week. He just looks too uncomfortable inside forward 50 and is too easily knocked off the ball. 2 disposals from 90% game time just doesn't cut it. It's basically being a man down.

At least Cox will generally bring it to ground due to his long arms, whereas I don't have the same faith in Cameron at this stage. To be fair, he is still learning the forward craft but our next two games will be another step up in terms of his direct opponents.

Can’t argue with that, I guess we’ll see what the match committee says. Either way it’s between Cox or Cameron. We can’t have Grundy rucking 1 out for the season. They should even consider resting Grundy, he manages a tremendous work load.

It’s obvious he isn’t a key forward.
Poor game on the basis he got out positioned multiple times.
5 tackles though shows he is willing to compete and work so Nathan will like that.
Cox has played multiple games like this consistently in terms of being out positioned.

Max King’s output was kind of what we could expect from Cox. Admittedly King didn’t smash it but he popped up and did his bit. (He’ll obviously develop). Darcy wasn’t near King’s level yesterday. I’m hopeful Darcy will develop but he does seem to be out of his depth as a key forward.

Cox ain’t at young King’s level either.
I said it inthe scratch match in pre season.

Watch Mihocek then watch Cox
Yesterday Mihocek threw his body at everything—not just aerially but ground level work exceptional.
His ability and want to work is first class.
This is why he is rewarded because he never stops

Cox doesn’t work hard enough

We need him to provide a marking outlet from the backline, and keep West Coast’s intercept defenders occupied inside our F50. Cause some collisions when balls come in high. Goals would be handy but primarily we should be directing traffic through Stephenson, Elliott, WHE and Mihocek.

He also needs to chase opponents in our F50 and lay some tackles.

basically we need him to be AFL standard

He can’t do any worse than cox’s output last few weeks so why not play him.

cox needs to find touch, just sucks no vfl. I still think Reid will get his chance just not quite match fit
