Darcy’s after game speech was outstanding. Paid respect to his opponents and then paid even more respect to the ANZACs, the military and their families.

I really enjoy the role he plays, credit to him and Fly for encouraging the style. Much as I loved Presti, others before and since, that octopus type defense is so boring when compared to now. Darcy plays fullback like a round ball fullback.

Good speech. He probably wrote it last year.

Even better was his performance on the day. He took some terrific contested grabs deep in the backline, and some really good spoils of the contest at other times.

He is the most important player in our team in my view, even though Daicos is getting (rightfully) kudos for his performance. We are a 6-12 ranked team without Moore there in my view, and he takes us into the top 4. Especially given our scarcity of available other talls.

Footage of the pre-game huddle unfortunately isn’t on the Kayo replay, but watching it at the ground yesterday was so inspiring. Whatever message Darc was giving, it was clearly motivating and inspirational, he was smiling the whole way through it while he was talking. Loved to see it.
