After being told he was being dropped to the magoos he chose to quit our club and football in general.

Rumors were, that he would be filling a coaching role.

Why would we want a DOG like him at the club ?

One of the softest, laaziest players i've seen.

Still can't believe he cracked the sads and refused to play VFL.........as though he was a good player.

He use to be the best their was. Was an integral part of our 2001 success. Yes he did leave the club short of a player (considering we probably should have delisted him before Kellaway the year earlier), however Thurstfield has publically stated that Gasper has helped him tremendously even after he retired

ok.thanks.

the best their was in his time. was never beaten one on one. was disapointing that he refused to stick around at coburg after he was sacked from the senior team, he owed us that imho after his shocking season in 2004. worst season i have ever seen from a player, even coming back from a knee injury, looked disinterested and lazy.

In his prime, he was great, after he got injured, not so great.
Just shows the kind of bloke he is....which is why i think Tivendale deserves Kudos....He's not in our best 22, but still giving his all for the burgers.

his good days were pretty good...
though i remember some of his bad days when he's not interested? They were woeful:thumbsd:... i remember Ryan Griffan and another bulldog player giving him a ****ing spray for being a lazy **** and not helping out his teamates when we were copping a 100+ flogging:thumbsd:.

I wouldn't go as far as calling him great but he was one of the better defenders in the comp...at his best. Good hands but terrible kick. He was crippled after his reco and never got anywhere near his best after it. All the best to him but would prefer coaches coming in who have had success and can impart some of that winning culture to the young boys.

LOL.Good one Oxx Gaspar=sook.

I liked the Gas. I wouldn't want to finsih my career in the reserves after 10+ years at senior level either

In the big picture

Life is about taking the bad with the good.

It's evident that Gaspar was incapable of going when the going got tough....and it showed throughout his career.

Well paid sook.

Tivendale >>> Gaspar.

Respect for Tivendale:thumbsu:

Yer agreed on Tivendale I have some respect for him going back to the burgs good on him a good servant of the club has put the club first and taking his bat and ball home.

Didn't we choose to delist Andy Kellaway over Gaspar...then he quit like 1/2 way through the season?

Worst decision ever

the best full back our side has had in 20 years - and one of the rare full backs to win a B&F - all in our best year in 20 years.

injury cost him his reputation in the end

Cmon Astro.....the guy could not kick or handball to save his life.....how someone so unskilled it the nasic skills of the game could get AA is beyond me.

Even before the injury his skills were atrocius

Thursfield is practically a Gaspar clone. Gaspar was a cat; he'd spoil then win the ball on the ground. Okay, he wasn't a great kick but more often than not he stopped his man, over many years, when our defence was under siege. He might have spat the dummy at the end but that's a separate issue. The man could play, and he was as brave (almost) as a Kellaway.

his skills are probably as poor as richo's, a & d Kellaway's for long parts of their careers

but gas, along with those blokes were exceptional at other area's of their games - and like it or not - gas is by a mile the best "stopper" this club has had in over 20 years - of any size.
