Re: Jolly

Where's all his haters now.

You can all **** off, sorry, but you can, he is the number one ruckman at our club by that far it isn't funny.

Time and time again he hit the ball to our advantage tonight, to the point where the Crows started doing a Sandilands against him and tried to read off him.

Brilliant game from our champion ruckman, give him a rest next week and bring him back against Melbourne and Jamar, we need him fit in the finals to win the flag.

Re: Jolly

I've been one of his biggest critics, but credit to him for a great performance. Hopefully we can manage him through the year.

Same with me, except not so big. Just thought he had lost it, but clearly after tonight he still has a lot to give. We definitely need to manage him right though.

I love Jolly, and now I really know why! Awesome game, wish I had been there!

Re: Jolly

Wonder if Shep Ed will open up this thread considering he wanted Jolly dropped for Wood
I have to say hat if Ed has been anything it's willing to admit a mistake or revisit an opinion, to his credit.

I did not see the match so cannot comment on him but if as everyone said he bested Jacobs good on him.I did say that he does not jump in ruck contests anymore and I stand by that comment and I also think he needs a rest next week to get through the season,at his best he is our best ruckman and our best chance at the flag but we still need game time in Wood.

You can't constantly take a player out to rest him. Once every 5 or 6 weeks yes, but a fortnight after he had 3 weeks off is stupidity.

If he's inured rest him, but if you rest him after every 2 weeks he'll never get continuity and will be no good for anyone

Re: Jolly

I've been one of the critics also. I turned to my mate and said he has been awesome in the ruck but around the ground, he is still struggling.

I loved his 2010 season, as he rucked awesomely but also had the ability to move forward and be mobile enough to kick some goals. The latter is truly past him and he is now in the Clark Keating mold. Nothing wrong with that though....

EDIT: Above, he had three disposals to half time and overran contests on numerous occassions. Not sure he was that great around the ground. Watch the replay.

Ruck work was superb though :thumbsu:

We had a gun ruckman around the ground..Josh Fraser. How'd you all like him?

We needed a big guy to compete in the ruck and we got Jolly and now people want him to compete well in the ruck and also do well around the ground.

What you might be looking for is Dean Cox. :rolleyes:Very few ruckman in the comp can do what Cox can do.

Jolly is doing what we need him to do, to allow us to win it all. That's enough to keep me satisfied.

I reckon it's the first game in a long long time the umpires haven't pinged Jolly for ridiculous free kicks in the ruck. I think he cops rough deal at times. Loved his game and took Jacobs to school.

Playing on Jacobs certainly suits him too, both old school rucks who like a wrestle. None of this athletic bullshit, just two big gorillas going at it.

Jolly smashed him comprehensively, the stats, while they are in Jolly's favour - don't tell the full story.

You'd think it was a cold, windy and wet night or something

Re: Jolly

Maybe not?

No you were right the first time, i just don't agree Jolly was good. Sorry. I was happy with everyone else (Except Cloke and Dawes, but I expected Cloke to get murdered because Rutten always does it to him).

Even Toovey.
