Only managed to catch the last of it, as I was in Dan Murphy's loading up on the weekly grog supplies. But the closing conversation went something like this...
Dwayne Russell: "So how are things looking at Tigerland, drafts and trading wise. You think you'll be fairly active."
DK: "Look we'll consider the options, look at who's available and look to see if those available would be able to contribute in building a successful future for the RFC."
DR: "So you think you'll maintain with your current youth policy that seems to be a focus of the football clubs at the moment?"
DK: "Yeah, absolutely."
Gerard Healy: "And any substance to the rumours Kingy that Coughlan could be on the outer? And that Shane Tuck could be a possibility to move on, possibly back to the Hawks?"
DK: "Haven't heard that one yet. Think I'll be making a few calls."
DR: "So they won't be up for trade?"
DK: "Nah, they won't be going anywhere mate, they'll be there."
Not word for word, but that's pretty much the jist of it. He obviously wouldn't come right out and say "yeah, they're not part of our plans and we'll just take what we can get for them", but it didn't even sound like a smokescreen at all. Simply sounded like Kingy thought it was a fanciful rumour (which may or may not have been started on an online forum???). Make of that what you will, but like most rumours/wishes/worries about trade week, I feel they won't come into the equation at all.
Didn't hear the start of it. Anything newsworthy mentioned?
