Very sad news.
His knickname was "Rubber" because he could take a lot of punishment.

He was a great backman and did well against taller opponents. I remember he had huge thighs.

My father used to drink with Rubbers father down at the club at Linda Cresent.

He was too young to pass away.

Just heard the news , close to tears , met rubber a couple of times and he still came to Hawk games , would have been shattered at our loss last year , true gentleman.

One of the only, if not the only, past student of Ivanhoe Grammar to win a premiership.

Sad news.

Sad news indeed, very active in the local community as a Real Estate agent and more recently involved wih his Sons junior football team. Had the great pleasure of meeting him and calling him a friend when our sons crossed paths 10 years ago. Really down to earth bloke and friend to many, great player and supporter of the club to the end.

RIP mate - was the first VFL player to come out of Park Orchards where I played my junior footy. Used to come down and do clinics with us. Great footy player and Hawthorn man, he will be sadly missed.
