Just got delisted from Cats well worth a pick up in the PSD if you ask me.

He is super fit & still only young. Could well be a replacement for Stenglein as a run with player & gets the ball himself. Disposal needs a bit of work but that can be rectified.

Least we could do is invite him to train with us. Should pounce though i reckon a few other clubs eg. Essendon, Bulldogs would be interested in him.

Totally agree. Hell I was prepared to trade for him.

Seems to have gone from a promising young player to can't even make the team since doing his knee. Not sure if he is what we are looking for, we seem to have plenty of his type of player in our list.

Very hard midfield to break into when they've got the likes of Bartel, Kelly, Ablett, Corey, Ling & Tenace.

Why did he get delisted?
Not long ago, it was how wonderful he was..

They had to delist someone. And with their enormous talent in the midfield unfortunately he was the one that copped it.

Could be worth a punt in the PSD if available, however, I wouldn't waste a National Draft Pick on him. His ball-getting skills are good, however, his kicking is rather ordinary.

Not sure about the pretty-boy haircut either.

I'm pretty sure will get picked up late in the National Draft by 1 of the Vic clubs.

After the National Draft, will we have any room left on our list to utilize for the Pre-Season Draft?

And if so, do you think any of the clubs that have picks before us will snap up Spriggs before we get a chance?

Probably correct on all counts. Not a bad player at all before his knee injury and could be worth a PSD pick if still around.

Reminds me very much of a former Crow - Matthew Liptak. Great ball-getter, goes in hard, good pace, but knocks the lids off of jam jars with his kicks!!

Worth a punt in the PSD but pass in the national draft, have more important issues to adress first.
Would of thought he will get picked up during the national draft however.
My tip Essendon!

Spriggs has a good engine, but his disposal is ordinary. Agree that he would only be worth considering in the PSD.

He has something Adelaide wants.........pace

Wouldn't be the worst re-cycled player out there

I agree pace is what the crows neeed and this kid has it to burn, but the crows have so many holes in the list so u got to get your priorities right

Like a lot when I heard the news I was surprised and it makes me wonder is there something deeper? ( sorry the conspiracy theorist inside me wins out all the time)

Or was it financial like Essendon did a few years ago ..Ottens in means Spriggs out.

Or is he crap like a few say?

I wouldnt waste my first 3 Draft picks but if he was available at the end then yes I would consider him.

But good luck to him wherever he goes

When Spriggs did his knee they took a graft from his hamstring. Now apparantly that part of the hamstring hasn't grown back.
Consequently the reason he was delisted was two fold.
1. He has lost a yard in pace since the knee.
2. His disposal - in his words not the long kick but the short kick which is so prevalent in footy these days.

He has been told that there are 3 hamstring components and that with the right program the 2 not affected can compensate for the damaged part.

He is certainly worth a look in the PS training to see if he can re-capture his athleticism - but you would have to think Geelong considered their position b4 delisting him and getting nothing in return.

After four or five years in the AFL I doubt it. I'm sure Carlton were thinking along those lines with David Clarke and he still can't kick to save himself.

I don't rate Spriggs at all, shocking disposal, lack of awareness, lack of heart but perhaps he is worth the last spot on someones list via the PSD. I didn't rate Koula last year, in the end he was a last minute selection because of the Shane Harvey debacle, and he was a very handy player when the injuries hit our midfield towards the end of last season.

Id consider him, he is a fine talent certainly showed it at times with Geelong a few years ago, looked like a young Ben Cousins. If he can remain injury free I have no doubt he will make it easily. Not sure if we will get him wont be worried if we dont, wont comlain if we do.

Why don't you worry about who's going to assist Choco next year. You may not have holes in your list at the moment, but you certainly have a problem now that no-one wants to work with your coach anymore. Read between the lines and see if anything comes to mind....;)

Had me a touch baffled as to why the Cats delisted him but after reading your points above i can see why,

Not sure that we should take him even as late pick as we have enough already of players that are in a do or die situation next year in regards to their footy careers.
