lols - Malthouse was parachuted into the West Coast team which was probably the greatest team ever assembled - and still only managed to win 2 flags - he should have won TEN with that team - my cat, who died a few weeks ago, and wasn't even alive at the time could have done his job at West Coast - probably better.

Take out the West Coast time and he is still one of the longest serving coaches on record - BUT - that leaves him with one of if not THE worst coaching win / loss records in modern AFL era.

Yeah - wow - absolutely legend, one of the best coaches of all time....are you KIDDING with that ? The guy was a nuff nuff who bullshitted his way through life.

Not sure if you have ever had much time with him, but the guy is a completely insufferable bore and incredibly dim witted - he just puts on this massive show.

Pies are still suffering from having him around.

Well said.

Those that knifed Ratten and replaced him with a total con artist deserve to be ashamed for the rest of their lives. The way the Club encouraged the media witch hunt and undermining of Ratten in an injury plagued year in order to secure the services of this total con artist was the greatest example of cluelessness I have seen at Carlton - cancelled my membership as soon as the decision was made - and didn't renew until he was gone.

Teague was interviewed by Dwain Pipe yesterday and DR said that Levi had been named as sub (wrongly as it happened). A casual "I wasn't aware that we'd named our sub" was DT's response.

My response would have been "I haven't decided who the sub is yet", but DT's was almost like he half expects decisions like that to be made elsewhere.

Anyone else think it was odd? How senior is our senior coach?

Seems he can’t do the media politics that well or communication lines within our club aren’t as open as one might expect.

To be fair, it was Docherty that was interviewed.

I didn't like his appointment, especially the manner in which it was done.
But I will say, his appointment to Collingwood in 1999 (off-season) after winning a spoon was probably where the parallels were drawn and desired
2000 finish second last, 2001, 9th and runner up in 2002 & 3 with an ordinary list against arguably one of the best teams and coach of the modern era, and almost stole one. His premiership of 2010 was all his, all homegrown, in his image.
He must have thought dynasty time, only to see his work handed to Buckley. What we got was a jaded, spiteful, damaged old man, who destroyed our club and lost players, some still playing today. It is what it was. Kernahan was Prez, he was from the Eliott era , but should have known via the Pagan mistake, which was almost identical in idiocy and our club was full of idiots and traitors. The only thing I struggle with is, who was the biggest imbecile of that period

Remember the whats cooking - 5 year blueprint, with a 2 premiership yield? LOL

Really? They sound identical then - I could have sworn it was DT. That's what I get for missing the interview bookends.

Hopefully that's the most embarrassing thing I do today.

Won a flag with that Collingwood rabble. Qualifies him for legend status at that club. Flag aren’t Lolly bags. Great for his era but his era is done. Judge the realities.

Teague was better again in his press conference... :thumbsupv1:
Think his starting to come out of his shell and becoming more relatable... Which is good...

But, still don't know what to think about today's game..
We just fell over the line today against a team that got beaten by North last week :eekv1:

Baby steps and a win is a win. Training wheels maybe? I’m not sold on Teague but, happy to give him the chance to grow with the club.

Perhaps those wanting to blow the whole joint up after we lost to the dogs by 4 goals should look At the saints v dogs game tonight and reconsider... we are not perfect and are certainly still learning, but we are no where near as bad as some would like us to believe.

Glad to hear about the 'spray'. Maybe in the future at the beginning of the game...😉

Yes, we are...
Until we beat those above us nothing has changed...

Dog's beating the Saints has nothing to do with Dog's beating us...

But what we do have, is a best 22 and depth that can beat these sides...
Biggest positive for the year for mine has been our depth, something Carlton hasn't had since the 90's

Haven’t watched the presser Ten but we beat our twenty year bogey. Liked our last quarter. Bank it and Buddy awaits ..

This x100. Coaching cleanout surely on the way barring a major turnaround this year - in the meantime, we're finally seeing those GREEN SHOOTS.

Yes but at 3.10 to 4.10 of his press conference he exhibits concerning diffidence about how his strong message at half time would affect the players. How many coaches, win or no win, would reveal that at a press conference?
He needs to toughen up and not fret about the players!
