I wonder if Extraction is based on the DVD, Dead Space: Downfall? It's a prequel which explains the events in the lead up to Isaacs arrival. Female lead too.... Wasn't too bad overall.

DEAD SPACE 2 ANNOUNCED, DETAILED
EA’s finally announced Dead Space 2, as you can see in the PR after the break. It’s confirmed for PC, 360 and PS3, but there’s no date.

Apparently, Isaac’s going to be “taking the fight to the Necromorphs” this time, with new weapons, new characters, and “epic zero-G environments”.

“We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey,” said EP Steve Papoutsis.

DEAD SPACE 2 DETAILS
"He's a little bit more of a veteran, and he's going to have a voice," executive producer Steve Papoutsis told the magazine. "He's going to relate through dialogue and story, and have more of a take-charge attitude this time around."

The developers confirmed there will be online components to Dead Space 2, but would not elaborate at this time.

"From the start of this project, we've had a team of people working on this. It's a core feature to the game; we're taking it very serious, as we do with anything in the Dead Space franchise, said Papoutsis. "All I can say is that it's really fun, and you'll get to strategically dismember your friends."

I couldn't really play it on PC, I just found the camera to be too much of a nuisence.

I'm up to chapter 3 and this game really is scary. I've jumped quite a few times and always yelled at the TV when the aliens crawl into the vents.

Love the use of kookaburra calls in the hydroponics area, something creepy about the noise they make.

Awesome game. Although definitely only playable late at night. Enjoying heading to bed at midnight and wacking this in. Scares the shit out of me.

Can't wait for the sequel.
