I reckon the old red with a very dark blue would look better. I'm talking dark almost the point to black.

Isn't that what Schwabb said the jumpers were meant to be like? I remember when they unveiled the new jumpers, they really emphisised the tone of the blue. I don't particularly notice a difference between what we have now and the old ones (pre-2011).

And as much as it would be nice to use a particular red, if it looks silly against the blue or on tv etc, just revert it back to the original.

This picture popped up on my Facebook and I thought I'd use it to emphasize just how poor how guernseys are.

Compared with Essendon's red, which I reckon is fantastic, ours looks weak and faded. The new webjet logo looks MUCH better than the red patch but they are still just stuck on, as is the opel sticker on the back. I wonder how long they will last after being put through the wash a bit.

Also I'm over the collar. The stitching on the shoulders sticks out like a sore thumb. They are also poorly made and easy to rip.

Another thing is that our jumper is fairly heavy. We should really contact Adidas because their jumpers are super light. Go to the AFL store and pick up a Collingwood or Essendon jumper and you'll be able to tell.

edit: Oh and get rid of the Melbourne logo and move the AFL and webjet logos up higher. It's far too cluttered at the tip of the yoke. In fact the tip of the yoke pretty much disappears on the clash guernsey it's that cluttered.
Maybe since Collingwood is leaving Adidas we can jump in and pick up the slack? Just tell them to copy Essendon's red, do the sponsor logos properly (I know they had some issues this year but $129 for a guernsey with stickers on it is very steep), drop the collar and use the significantly lighter material.

Just got my new clash jumper today and I generally agree with your summation of them. Really disappointed that the sponsors are nothing more than iron-on 'stickers' and not printed like my Reebok one. I'd love them to return to a full collar if they want to go the collar route and the red absolutley has to be brighter. Much more like this with the bright red and the dark blue:

I like the jumper being heavy though. I don't run around in it and the heavier weight gives it more substance for my $125 than something light and flimsy.

I'd love a return to colours like that. They are perfect.

Does the webjet logo on your jumper have a red box around it or does the mouse plane thing just sit on its own?

Red box. Dunno how they'd get around that, they can't go the mouse option like on the home jumper. I'd like to see a slight rearrange too and put the MFC logo at the point of the yoke (like the 150 year job they did) and lift the AFL and sponsor logos higher. They may be hamstrung by AFL regulations on that one, I don't know.

Let me get this straight, the club charges 125 bucks for a jumper and they have put iron on stickers on it?
Not very professional.

I just have this inkling that the club will me more distracted with it's current on-field situation as opposed to its fashion sense. Besides it's not that bad a colour is it?

And that's the most disappointing aspect. Things like the colour red and the collar I can live with but I thought the extra delay would be from printing new jumpers with the sponsor logos integrated like the AFL logo, not ironed on like the numbers.

To be fair they feel fairly "tough", at least as far as stickers go. My Melbourne polo top stickers all came off after a couple of washes.

Yeah, I would say they look like they're of the same material as the iron-on numbers. But it looks cheap and unprofessional having the logos done in this manner in my opinion and with the guernsey being such an important part of the club, it promotes it in a poor light.

Let the club know your thoughts. They may improve the quality of their apparel if supporters let them know it's not up to standard. If you tell them their quality is poor compared to other clubs they may try to lift their game. Hopefully!

Have done. Hopefully it will benefit yourself. ;)

I must be the only person who likes the stars. I think it shows everyone that we were actually good once.

Collar is meh, bit pompous but shows our heritage as well.

Stickers on the jumpers seem really shit this year, esp the Opel one on the back. Maybe it's just due to them rushing them.

Logo is unneeded but all the clubs are doing it. It wouldn't affect me at all if it was removed.

Love the Stars.

Love the Collar, really don't know what all the fuss is about the jumper, like the blood red....

Sorry for the intrusion guys. Have they simply applied the "stickers" over the now-defunct logo? Just wondering because they would have had a ton of stock made prior to the season and to remake them all would have cost the club a bomb. I'm assuming that's the reason for the stickers anyway.

I like the stars. The collar I don't hate but would prefer a proper collar and the red I like during the day and dislike at night (looks maroonish).

Just held the jumper up to a light and they are rebadged 'old' jumpers with the old sponsor on the back and nothing on the front with the stickers added to update it. Which is fine except the way they were promoted I thought they would be new guernseys.

Anyone know what the quality of the Reach jumpers are like? I assume the logo's aren't iron on. Have the Energy Watch labels been removed?

The Reach jumpers have iron on stickers when I saw them in the Melbourne store (there are still a fair few left). I'm not sure what is on the back of the jumpers, I didn't turn around. The reach stickers felt fairly flimsy. The Webjet and Opel ones at least feel a bit stronger, as far as stickers go.

So the season jumpers have Iron on stickers too? Might just pick up a rugby jumper and wait till next year to get a guernsey. Still got my 2010 guernsey which has a few signatures on it so I can keep wearing it for another year I spose.

Everything has stickers on it, including these new ones

I'm not sure why the players don't use these new ones though. Despite still being stickers, they at least look better than the red box Webjet logos.
