Has anyone had a read of West Coast's Hawks Death Ride thread? Boy oh boy there's some sad head f**ked individuals that were sure we were going to lose last night.

Comments like this make me laugh. According to this person Hawthorn have everything break their way

With the amount of father/sons and academy picks in this years first round both teams picks had the potential to blow out. No one could foresee Carlton getting smashed with injuries and falling off a cliff.

That being said I thought all day the Hawks had this, then when they lost Howe in the first 90 seconds I was like yep, kissed on the d!ck again, the Hawks are, then face Brisbane without Lachie Neale in two years.

But i try not to judge. They are a long way from civilisation, after all.

Saints vs Tigers – Just need the Saints to get a win here but a walloping would be great to narrow the percentage with the Blues.

Blues vs Suns – If the Suns want to make any kind of noise heading into the finals then they should really look to do a number on the Blues here with a top 4 spot in their grasp.

Dees vs Dogs – Ideally it would be great if the Dees don't lose by too much but without May down back things could get really ugly for them.

With all going well then the blues will drop down to 14th (pick 5)

Prefer the Blues won. Suns are the one team that could knock us out of a possible top 4 spot if we won our last 2.

Saints have Bummers next week who won't have Merrett who'll miss with a hand fracture. If he misses the rest of the season then you'd assume the Blues will beat the Bummers in rd 24 and with the Dees likely not winning anymore games then I have the Blues overtaking the Dees which would leave us with pick 6 which will end up being closer to 10th after academy + compo picks.

Depending on results, we could get anywhere from pick 4 to pick 8 in this year's draft before the compensation picks are handed out, I assume Carlton loses to GCS, but if they lose to Port and Essendon as well it could be pick 4 or 5, which is best case possible if we draft or trade it.....if they beat both port and ess it could be pick 8 with their good percentage (they can go above Port, Melbourne and StK, but could also drop below Ess on the table) 5th last atm

There is a world where if we win the next 2 and Gold Coast beat Carlton we can still get into the top 4 by both teams taking Collingwood and Brisbane spots and improving our draft hand but stuff it I’m rooting for Carlton tonight.

Yes, top4 and flag chances far more important that draft picks.

IF Carlton somehow beat Gold Coast it could be the difference between a top 4 finish or a final at the MCG vs interstate. I'll take a 5-7 pick slide for that anyday.

There's scenarios where we don't leave the MCG all finals if we say, finish 5th and play a travelling Freo, then play Collingwood in a semi, then it's Geelong in a prelim and Adelaide in a GF or something. We need to win our games and hope others around us lose to get the best shot.
