Decision to play Dangerfield bizarre

I havent read all five pages. But we need to remember this year is a "Development" year.

I was at the game and yes Danger looked "at sea" but I can see that he will be a player. The lack of training with the boys showed this week when uner pressure. He lead well to the ball but to the wrong areas.
In AFL footy it seems players more often than not kick to space and expect a player to be there, rather than a player. This was shown this week with Danger. He was not in the space the kicking play expected him to be. Hence Danger looked lost. He was played the last two weeks to get exposure and get primed for preseason.

I just don't understand this decision. It made no difference to the result but how could we pick him when he is not training with us? What sort of message does that send?

Really unfair to Campbell who gives 100% but is dropped instead of Dangerfield

How come Walker with great SANFL form is marked not to play this year, but Danger isn't?

The game is so professional these days, such preperation needed at training re game style etc. He looked out of his depth today. Not surprising.

Decision to play not fair on him, but mainly not fair to all those not picked today

Giving our 1st round pick & potential future gun a taster after a promising perfomance a week before over someone likely to be delisted ... yeah, absolutely crazy stuff AFC, what were you thinking!

BTW, next week when Danger is dropped should start a thread on how the younger guys don't get enough opportunity under Craig...

I totally agree with you

Given his unique situation, he hasnt really trained all year with the club and really had no idea what to expect. I think playing him was a fantastic step as a way to show him what level you have to be at and to give him the fire to want to get back out there.

Being in the under 18s this year wouldnt have given Rodney any idea about what to expect from next year. We needed to blood him so that this year wasnt a total waste as far as his develop goes.

As for people wanting Campbell picked instead  the guy wont be there next year and hasnt set the world on fire in the chances he has received this year, it wouldnt have changed the result nor would have helped the club in the long term.

1 game maybe ok, the second just wasn't the right call for Crows or Dangerfield. A full preseaon in 09 and hopefully he and Walker will make a big impact
