Yep agreed. If the white Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne government and leftist woke bureaucrats stop being demeaning and telling aboriginals they are victims and throwing money at woke NGOs owned by their mates, and let the elders, like Jacinta Price, set the agenda and solutions then that will go a long way.
I bet All the people who will now reply to me calling me racist are either white city people or 2% “indigenous” because they are n the gravy train them selves.

I won't call you racist, but I will tell you are wrong. Firstly discussing % Aboriginal can be quite offensive especially to those of the Stolen Generation. 'Elders like Jacinta Price" Really? An Elder for who? What of the elders of the mobs who are broken and disempowered?

There you go…. “Discussing can be quite offensive” , why do you think you need to speak for other people. Who the f are you to tell people what they should be offended by. Just because your woke white teacher told you that doesn’t make it true. Get out of your bubble into the real world. And yes to you city dwelling leftist divisive self virtuous people it might be, but to the average aboriginal out in the bush or the country towns they don’t give a f. How do I know, because I grew up with them, went to school with them, played footy with them, went to the pub with them, went to each others weddings and they hate you city mob talking for them.
And as one of Australia’s greatest fellas, who people like you tried to box as a stollen generation, Polly Farmer once said to me, “if it wasn’t for the Sister Kate’s he’d never be the man he was”.

Did you seriously call them “Broken”??!! heck me You are the racist one…. How dare you look down upon people like that and call them “broken”. They are good people being led astray by woke self virtuous people ,like you and the white Canberra mob and the money grabbing fellas you take take and take from the “industry”.

Wow you grew up with Aboriginals, went to school with Aboriginals, even more wow that you drank at pubs with 'them' and you even went to weddings with Aboriginals. How could I compete with someone who knows Aboriginals so well. Polly Farmer did not have the experience many others had with the Stolen Generation who had their lives torn apart by it. The Stolen Generation was horrific, it destroyed lives. You have no idea what you are talking about.
campbell ferball apparently being a Stolen One was a good thing, Be careful. this guy knows a lot about Aboriginals.

Yes I called them broken because many are. Broken by years of systematic racism and abuse. Never said they are not good people; many are wonderful people who will never recover. Broken beyond repair.

Sad, but ever so true.

There is a current case against Qld Health citing systemic racism.

As I said, all the mob I know hate you white city leafy suburb lot who want the problem so you can show how virtuous you are. All you know about it the lies you were told by leftist teachers and what you read from propaganda news papers.
The real world has many problems, but they are not due to ‘systemic racism’ they are due to white people like you and bureaucrats and now the indigenous activists who want a problem so you can leech of it.
If we didn’t have “broken people” then you wouldn’t have a high horse to ride would you.
The significant problems can be fixed, as long as people like you, the activist’s, the money grabbers and the self virtuous stay the hell away from the solution. Programs like Clontarf helps fix it. And I trust someone like Jacinta Price, who has actually lived it, a lot more than a white wealthy kid like you.

Every time you comment you are making a bigger and bigger fool of yourself. A white wealthy kid like me hey. You are sinking deeper and deeper.

You are a racist pig, calling someone broken because of their race is appalling.
No, you are the racist pig. Horribly racist. Not willing to acknowledge systematic racism. A little knowledge but no idea. I am calling many Aboriginal people broken because they are broken.

We're seeing fewer indigenous players for the same reason we don't see indigenous people in investment banking or running corporations. AFL player is a desirable profession and an increasing number come from top private and state schools where they have access to first-rate coaching and skills development. Those kinds of recruits also tend to be lower risk, as previous posters have mentioned. ABC News did story on this last year, quoting an expert saying clubs prefer kids with 'good' background, ie, stable home, mid-high range income etc. They are lower-risk, easier to coach, and with broader life skills.

What is that reason? Not all investment bankers went to private schools. Education is available to anyone who wants it badly enough. Indigenous people do run businesses. I think deeper questions need to be asked, and the answers aren't the trite ones.

Should the industry review how some players from regional and remote areas are identified to inform development pathways?

Lloyd Johnson is from Borroloola - very remote Northern Territory.

I’m unsure how he was ‘discovered’ and the steps in his pathway to the AFL. GC2015 SUNS do you know any more?

Would be great to see more young men and women from remote areas make their way to the AFL.

Why do you need gov employees, NGOs and Territory Government to help. They are most of the problem by treating the locals as ‘victims’ and ‘special’. Let the locals stand up and be proud for them selves and make their own local rules. Let’s be honest, all Elders want to ban grog in remote areas, but the white woke w***ers say that is racist. FFS, their people, their mob their rules.
Even the most successful organisation I know like Clontarf footy academy is getting a hard time from the aboriginal “Industry”, Clontarf works, kids go to school and have mentors. But alas a ‘Professor’ in Queensland as part of her yes campaign crap wrote a paper saying that Clontarf is ‘white’ and has too many white people on their board and should not get any government funding… FFS it’s one of the few NGOs that works, leave it alone.

This highly paid rich city living wants the money for her mates, not solutions.

look how much success Clontarf footy academy has

Hard to not involve government for funding and implementation with any working group. Majority of remote communities and town camps have alcohol bans, so not really sure what white woke w***ers you think are preventing this.

We have had government involved with implementation for decades, how’s that going? For the real struggling people in the bush I have not seen much improvements. Throwing money hasn’t worked. Self responsibility and accountability without special ‘cultural’ laws and rules that for example allow conflict of interests needs to be considered. The only people doing well out of it are those making money from these issues while not making any improvements.
Who do you work for?

The previous NT chief Minister Gunner said alcohol ban was racist. Look where he is now, now a partner of KPMG….. a woke company.
