Yay
Just on Kent - he's just going full bore at the ball, if the kick is slightly overcooked it will go over him, which is whats happening.

Agree. Should be able to be fixed if they've noticed it's happening. Which isn't a givenJust on Kent - he's just going full bore at the ball, if the kick is slightly overcooked it will go over him, which is whats happening.

It's not just happening when he's running flat out towards the ball, it's also when he's relatively stationary. He should be holding his position just behind where the ball will drop but, instead, he starts to move underneath then past it. Also there hasn't been anything wrong with the kicks (is that what you mean by overcooked?) - they've been going precisely where they should have, the problem is that Kent hasn't been.

Good
Colin Sylvia, still a prodigious talent. Needs to find some consistency but he's impressed me this season. If he does actually continue to play like this and N Jones, Toumpas, Trengove, etc continue to develop there's no reason we can't have a decent midfield.
Jack Watts, took some pretty good marks and looked very composed whenever he had the ball.
General Garland, as usual. Solid in defence.
Liked the bit of run and carry that I saw today. Would always prefer to see the side take the game on and make mistakes, rather than play defensively and not even get our hands on the ball, and hence never even threaten to be attacking
Your comment "take the game on and make mistakes " is spot on.
All sides learn by mistakes , becoming defensive and trying to hold of an opponent simply by becoming over defensive is much worse than going for broke. Take dozens of risks and learn , that's how people learn about themselves and what they are capable of doing. Its how you get better. In the beginning it doesn't matter if you get beaten by miles its the fact that you put up. Good luck Dees.
Because he doesn't read the ball well when it's in the air. Actually, it's as though he loses the ball when its in the air so he runs to where he thinks it might be. Assuming his eyes are fine (not as silly as it sounds) a bit of work with Col Sylvia (pound for pound one of the best marks in the AFL) should be all that's needed to fix things. Kent runs hard and will give us an option out of defense and into attack but to be that kind of link player we need him to be reliable overhead.Yeah, the thing is - when he sees the ball coming towards him, he goes flat out to meet it.
