I don’t thonk they should be moving a heap of players around to accomodate Culley.

Culley had a few nice moments in an absolute smashing. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

I do like the versatility Culley brings though. Definitely worth keeping on the list due to that flexibility.

Why not? Our seasons cooked and now is the time to experiment. We are a bottom 4 side as it is.

Nah let’s instead keep playing the 3 amigos in the midfield for another few years with Spargo scoring 1 goal in 10 games up forward.

Let’s throw everything around, these are basically practice games now.

Who's making excuses? We're just talking facts aren't we?

The criticism was that we could have tried Culley earlier instead of others as he was playing well. The response was he was being kept out because players like Lindsay and Langford were on the wing, the response to that was Lindsay an Langford can play other positions and your response was 'well Goody didn't try that earlier'

So the original criticism of 'Goody should have tried this earlier' was responded by you with 'Well no, because Goody didn't try this earlier'

Good: hmm, not much really. Maybe Fritsch and Petty getting some false confidence.
Bad: Maybe further confirmation that jvr and Windsor have declined quickly.
Ugly: Doesn't take away from the junk season we've put up.

Not speaking for Macka as well, but I think there's some confusion about what is being said.

The comment was Culley should have played instead of Spargo or Tholstrup.
It was raised that that's not really relevant because neither were wingers and Culley was playing wing.
Clearly, you're not dropping any of Langford, Lindsay (who didn't play much wing anyway), Chandler or Langdon for Culley as his form wasn't that outrageous.

All of us would have like a more innovative year at selection, reality is that hasn't happened. Expecting it to start purely to bring in a VFL player whose form has been ok but not incredible is not going to happen at any team, let alone ours.

Spargo and Tholstrup are irrelevant to the conversation. It's like saying 'why wouldn't we pick Mentha when Lever is having such a poor year?!'. Just the same copy and paste stuff from that one poster every week.

You are aware, Spargo was actually the one dropped for Culley right? Lmao

I think there is a bit of a strawman now from Culley should have been given a chance over Tholstrup to ‘would you swap Mentha for Lever?’.

It's not mate.

It's just highlighting players being selected for specific positions.

Becaseother players can’t be moved around at all, only when you’re forcing people to play out of position in the backline or persist with backmen playing forward
Mate, we're going around in circles.

We agree that Goodwin has been stubborn with selection. The reasons are the reasons, even though we don't like them.

Culley was serviceable. Let's not act like he was amazing or whatever.

His performance shat over anything Spargo or Tholstrup has put up all season.

Got 2 goals directly and setup another 2 with nice inside 50 kicks.

Then by having Langford up forward we got another 3 goals. So the move indirectly impacted 7 of our 21 goals.

For a team with the shittest forward line in the league struggling for 4 seasons with forward connection, feels like a no brainer to me.

it was against West Coast. Jeffo would've kicked 8 :)

Langford kicked 1 goal after going forward.

Spargo and Tholstrup don't play wing.

It was West Coast.

Petty kicked multiple goals and looked like a genuine key forward, that tells you everything you need to know about the standard of today's game.

Agree it was West Coast, but blokes like Sparrow and Mcvee still put up there usual shit to.

All I’m saying is, why didn’t we make moves like this earlier, Culley clearly has forward craft which we have been absolutely dying for. Can win a contest forward of the ball, so I’m absolutely gobsmacked we persisted with Spargo and Tholstrup ahead of him.

If you want to defend Goodie on this, then we need to agree to disagree.
