Hook this into my veins.

Don't get much Ash Chua content given I'm not in Victoria. But that elation and relief and speechlessness was like looking in a mirror of me yesterday... with less swear words.
I love Isaac Smith in that clip....dunno if it's the company in the box, north's underdog status, relationship with Clarko, or just the pure drama of the comeback, but just great to see good footy people who I respect stoked to see the roos get the job done.

Played for us in Ballarat too.

Not idea about his current loyalties, but I reckon most neutrals just love to watch games where the underdog comes from very far behind to win at the end.

Its the nice inverse of tall poppy syndrome.

It is a good time for a bye.

There is a ton to work on defensively. We have been putrid in this aspect last 40 v Cats and first half v Crows, Suns. There is a lot that needs to be improved.

It also gives Clarko and the coaches some time with Larkey, Curtis, Tembath, Dovaston et al to try and lift individual and collective confidence.

Use the time well boys!

Amazing win, full credit to the team. And hopefully it really is the turning point.

But I'll be honest, I think just how cooked GC were in the 4th really takes the shine off. I'm hearing a lot of talk about how we probably planned for it and the Suns could have managed it better etc - but what happened in the second was uncomfortably familiar.

It's frustrating because we've got this massive problem but we're getting better in other ways. It makes me feel that we shouldn't get too down when we ship ten goals in future because it's predominantly one issue and we should be able to fix it (one day), but at the same time I feel like until we do we're never going to really turn the corner as a footy club.

I don't think we can view this as a Clarko issue until we do something about our defensive stocks and then fail to improve. How that plays out before the contracts talks I have no idea.

Amazing win of course(!).

The behind the goals vision at the end showed that both Larks and PC missed the goal. We're lucky the advantage wasn't paid. But given we copped the rough end of the stick for most of the day, we'll take the win!

In the final term we also had two blatant non paid frees in our fwd 50 (high on Curtis and George getting Rowell HTB) that would’ve been goals as well

Umps taking the genuine piss today
And Bull getting taken high, but done for holding the ball.

I don't know who Issac Smith or Asher Chu are, can someone give me their 1 sentence bios? And is Chu "Chuman", and does he barrack for NMFC?
he's the MMM footy stats guy, been there forever. Huge North man. Lives at Point Cook

They commentated the game on Triple M, Isaac Smith is a former player while Chua is a statistician and big North fan

Brayshaw after the kick couldn't speak, a couple of tears running down the cheek and he wasn't the only one, fantastic, as Bruce would say, "Can you believe it, that was SPECIAL, a win for the ages"!😂

Isaac Smith played for North Ballarat, our alligned VFL side.

Oh, and he played in 4 Premiership sides. 3 at Hawthorn and 1 at Geelong

Total star, and it was obvious he had that quality when he was playing at North Ballarat (our VFL alignment.) We took Shaun Atley at 17 in that 2010 draft. Isaac was taken at 19 by Hawthorn and at our next pick (27) we took Keiran Harper.

The best part is, we get to enjoy this win for 2 weeks.

Think a win before the bye is great for the boys too. They’d get to have a few beers this weekend and build more of that positive vibe, then have a couple weeks away together in WA. A close loss and a fifth loss in a row would have been tough. Hoping this weekend is the launch pad for a big second half to the season.

On another rewatch of the last quarter and just picked up at 15.30 left you can hear a bloke in the outer absolutely paying out on Petracca. The spray finishes with “…chicken and rice how many times a week?”
LOL! You can hear it so clearly!

Thank goodness Trac got his hands on it as much as he did. Those dumps that directly resulted in turnovers were the difference in the end.

hahahah I had to pause and rewind the Kayo feed on the replay to make out what was being said

Just lovely abuse

If you remove the Adelaide game (I know you can't just pick and choose which games you leave in and take out but...), we're rated the 6th best team in the competition over our last 5 games (with a 2-3 record over that time)

If you include the Adelaide game, we're sitting in 10th. (with a 1-4 record over that time)

At the byes:
Our highest performing game this year - 233.6 vs. GWS (231.7 vs Richmond and 226 vs. GC our next best 2)
Our lowest performing game this year - 145.7 vs. Adelaide (181.9 vs. Brisbane and 186.2 vs. Essendon our next 2 worst)

Other than the Adelaide game, our performance over the last 6 games has been easily better than the first 5.
It's been a seriously successful year so far and we're carrying genuine momentum and real belief into the second half of the season.
