I'm about 99% certain that Curtis's miskick put so much spin on the ball that when it bounces it turned 90 degrees and crosses for a behind. It's only a split second before the coverage switches to the Zurhaar and the umpire, but I think Curtis did kick a behind.
Footage?

I see Noble and Konstanty running towards the pocket and Uhland jogging after the footy.

If it was play on no way we score as Uhland wont stop.

I reckon we butchered that play all together. The Larkey fumble to the Curtis kick.
I’m 99% sure it bounced back into play. We’re so Larkey Zuurhar got taken out.

I can’t stop thinking about the forwards in the first half.

No one running up. All stagnant. And at one point we there was a ridiculous situation where we had three players 35m out while the three suns defenders just left them and moved to the 50 line. Why? Bc the ball hadn’t even made it half way up the field yet. Like what are you all waiting for the ball behind your man and 80- 90m away from the ball !?

Correct.

Not sure why the umps didn't allow the 'advantage', but glad they didn't!!!

I wonder if the footy shows will discuss that.

Daicos got a ‘rightly called’ push in the back today. Pies players took it forward and fumbled the handball. Umpire called it back to Daicos. The taking the advantage rule is inconsistent between umpires.

Certain umpires kinda wait to see if the receiving team has a positive play from the advantage. If they don’t, similar to Larkey and Daicos today, they call it back. Use the ‘player didn’t know it was a free’ excuse.

I think it was because the umpire had the situational awareness to know that they only played on because they couldn't hear the whistle over the crowd. Umpires occasionally do exercise situational awareness, situationally.

Can only play the teams in front of us.

We don’t play well away from home either.

GC being top two before the game and still 5th after it indicates it is the best side relative to ourselves that we’ve beaten in a pretty long time.

I actually don’t care scalp or not, the heart and belief to come back from that far down I did not think we had in us. It is a superb sign.
No doubt it’s a great sign. And like I said, I hope the comeback win gives the playing group a belief that they can win no matter what. But let’s be honest. The GC ain’t a top 4 side. Like a legit end of season year after year top 4 team. They only made the finals for the first time last year and still have issues playing away from home. :stern look

I will convince myself this was the case and sleep easier. It was a fantastic win but we nearly found a new way to self sabotage. Onwards and upwards.

It was easier watching the replay, knowing the final result. It would have been frustrating as hell watching it live. 3 or 4 examples of a blatant free kick to North ignored by the umpires, only to give one for the same infringement to the Suns one second later. And Heally tried to claim the umpires were fair. Clearly, Rowell is exempt from the holding ball rule. Three times he should have been penalised.

Still we rise, despite them

good on you Chadwiko - you cop a fair bit on here, but no one can doubt your passion
One small question for Chadwiko though... I never see you in a North cap at games?

Can't change now though, the Shamrock has to stay! 😆🤜🤛

I’d suggest they’ll likely wind up top 6 this year. We will need to wait and see.

We’ve been entrenched in the bottom 6 (read 4) for forever.

We’re currently in the mid 6. You could argue this is actually punching above our weight currently.

Are they the biggest most proven side we could roll? No.

Does rolling them, especially given last week and compounded by the amount we were down mean something? I reckon it does.

We needed that win. For the belief of the group of nothing else.

We will have issues away from home until we are a proper decent side. We’re not there yet.

This shit is a ride and I will take days like today for the euphoric up that they are. After being down for so long, I’m completely fine riding some of these ups without over analysing whether the other team was worthy of an arbitrary title like being a scalp.

Gee it’s a good debate!!

Last 2 mins v Blues or Suns?

Sheezel and Simpkin goals.
LDU and Zurhaar.

Both coming from a fair way back.

Guess who kicked into the forward line both games?

Parker
