Was that comment of the century or what.

And people say hes a crap commentator

(P.S Im referring to "That Smother")

Good smother (I assume you mean the Crowell one), but sorry, I don't recall anything special said by Dermie. Personally, comments from Commetti tend to stand out for me - eg. "like a cork in the ocean", "centremetre perfect", etc ...

What WAS he going on about racing horses running quicker without balls?? LOL. Got himself caught up a bit there.

Lots of complaints about his commentating on Friday night, but I didn't think he was too bad for the Crows/Brissie game. He's about the only Vic commentator who has time for the Crows, because of his best mate Ayresy, so I have a little time for him.

Dermie's a very thinking footballer, whatever else you can say about him, and I think he's a cut above the rest- I know he's a smarmy sod, but compare him with, say, Don Scott, and you know we have progress...
He really looks at the field of play and points out things like the smother that are going on, which helps make up for the lack of vision you get by watching a game on television, rather then actually being there.

Dermie is the biggest pain in the ass I've ever come across. He is so self-absorbed that he can't provide effective special comments. Everything centres around Dermie and anyone with that much of an ego shouldn't be given such a role...

Actually listen closely to what this guy says. He talks complete rubbish most of the time.

Dermie thinks out loud too often methinks! He naturally looks at the strategies of both sides as they unfold in front of him (characteristics which I believe may make him a decent coach one day), but tells everyone about them, no matter how mundane or tedious they may be, like: "And Sydney have 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 players in the defensive zone for this kickout."
