Bucks while commentating a few weeks back noted that a Geelong player (don't remember who it was) did a hammy two weeks after a coming back from a knee opp not dissimilar to one Bucks had himself. Bucks said that he too did a hamstring two games after his comeback and the sort of op that sounded similar to Des'. It was a knee cap 'fix up' operation where part of it is removed. I was going to post at the time a cynically suggestion to watch out for this game on Des doing a hammy. I thought that was a bit negative so ignored it and hoped for the best ...

... and there ya go, two games back and pop goes the hammy. :(

Question time, do we have any idea of the severity of this one? He and the club really could not do with another long layoff from him.

Desies kneecap was bipartin,
Bucks' was the hammy tendon.
Not the same surgery it is true,
Headland's kneecap was in two.
Brisbane must still just be larfin.

i may be wrong, but fro the reports i have heard, Des has done a Thigh, not a hammy

Well there's lots to choose from after this game, but I thought Hill had the thigh and Des did the hammy. I guess we're not going to hear anything until the medical reports come out tomorrow.

We'll have to wait for the club pronouncements on this and other injuries. Whatever they say multiply the time out by 2 and add another 6 weeks to be on the safe side. Or am I being too optimistic?

Conservative if anything. I just heard Mayne was 8 weeks away, and O'Brien is actually out for 3 seasons.

Just add the fact that it turns out to be some rare type of stress fracture and I think you've got it about right. :o

The'd wrap him up in cotton wool, but apparently the medico's are too afraid to work on him or else they could break something else.
