Not new and logo has been posted but.....Don't try and improve on perfection.

Hopefully perfection will one day make a comeback. I'm not resigned this will never be our logo again. Clubs have reverted before to previous concepts and designs which have stood the test of time. Either way they'll be looking to change the beer logo soon enough. It already looks kind of bland and dated to me.

No they all have slight differences in design..go on have a close look at them....you know u want to..:rolleyes:
I think you should be a graphic designer :)

Wish more people would have a go at making up designs...keeps my mind off how the team is playing:oops::eek::eek::eek::mad::D

As a neutral observer I always admired this one. Bold and aggressive looking.

Also timeless like you mentioned. I asked my kids (boy and girl under 11 years old) their opinion and without hesitation they stated that this logo is better than the present one.

I've done likewise, I have shown quite a few people from overseas the two logos, people with no familiarity at all with the AFL, and again the choice has been unanimous in favour of the previous logo.

What so annoys and frustrates me are the criteria they used to select the new one. Things such as it's 'new', it's 'modern', it represents a 'new era' - not the most important question, God forbid, as to whether it actually looks better or not? It's like Hardwick's idiotic obsession with statistics. None of it means anything if the end result is crap.

It's just astounding that the actual appearance of a club logo seemed such a secondary consideration for those in charge. And it's just a pity the membership was never afforded a say.

I like the early 80s one best but its abit dated..the latest one i dont like much
..its plain cartoonish and weak looking and is already dated.. the logo before the latest one was my second favourite and an excellent logo...much better than the one we currently have...

They should have put it to a members poll (one that isn't rigged though)

We'd still have our better logo (94-2011) :(

Here's a few Tiger logos from around the world...

It pains me greatly to suggest with all seriousness, a marshmallow. Yes, a roasted marshmallow. Soft on the inside and carcinogenic on the outside.

*Stare at the pic for about 15 seconds then look at a light wall/surface if you don't know this corny stuff.

One big issue with most of your designs is clarity. At even a small distance, the yellow is swamped by the black, and you lose most of the fine details.

Using your av as an example, the text is nearly unreadable, and the back half of the tiger is blurred away

This was always the issue with the 80's logo, all those fine lines bleed into each other at a distance, and the black shield blurs the viewing further

Yes agree the 80s image is abit grainy and unclear ..unfortunately i dont have the software or expertise to make it better but the concept of logo i like.. so if someone can improve the clarity of the original image it would look heaps better...

In my educated opinion, the 80s logo is trash.

It looks like someone's ran a shitty drawing of a tiger through about 5 photoshop filters, made it black and white and then image traced it.

The one from the 90s that everyone loves is grouse but dated, the new one is the way sports logos are going.
Simple shapes, easy to print, easy to embroider, look good at every size from pins to caps to shirts to billboards.

In all honesty as mentioned before I think this logo is perfect. I don't really dislike the current one, it just seems like an unnecessary downgrade.
