It's about a 10% chance of getting a weapon from a Vanguard upgrade I've found, you really shoildnt be expecting it. Ditto for Cryptarch.

yeah that's a good way to look at it. Treat a weapon if it comes as a massive bonus

Since ive been banned on here I didnt get to tell everyone I finally got a Vex and Vision Of Confluence last week, in fact i now have 2 of each after getting exactly the same drop on Atheon a couple of days ago (Vex, Vision, Aspect of Glass and Helm Shards)
