They know they are there though & have shown they have the ability to patch these things. Regardless of the existence of any unintended exploits though, they do have full control of & intended the design of the lottery reward system which as far as I can tell is the main crux of the issue here.

Anyway as I've made clear I have no standpoint on either side of the discussion. What boggles my mind is how it actually can be such an issue to some people. Like how does someone get worked up about something as trivial as how someone else plays a video game? That's not a wise crack or anything but an actual question. As a pretty placid & even-tempered sort of person I just don't get the whole "how can the cheesers sleep at night" point of view. Why would it even matter?

Well it makes the emblem a bit pointless doesn't it? I was very happy to put that emblem on when we beat crota twice while having beat him legit. But now that everyone and their dog with a wired net connection can get it without trying too hard, it's made it pointless for me... And have since removed it from my chars.

You do realise that you are complaining about an emblem right? Emblem disappointment is so far down the rung of real problems that it would be disingenuous to even consider it a first world problems.

Might be a silly question but how do you find people to do raids? I have tried the Bungie forums and that and the most that occurs is I get an invite to a team and then we sit at the tower for five minutes before everyone leaves. I would like to actually do the VoG one day.

On the cheesing. I think the Crota cheese is very similar to duping in GTA. People are exploiting the game in a similar way, I know I lost a lot of my enthusiasm for GTA online once everyone had duped their way into millions of dollars and bought tanks and platinum supercars and whatnot. Whereas I was working towards apartments and more modest cars instead.

I don't think cheesing would kill Destiny for me, but if you can't see how people taking the easy way out to get things that were handed out as a reward for achieving something in game would annoy those who actually did it legit. Then I think people are struggling to see where that side of the conversation is coming from. The icon was a sign that you had defeated Crota, for a week that was something to feel happy about in game. It is now at the point where almost no one that has completed it legit wears it and it is all the people who have only cheesed it that wear it. People are very quick to only blame the developer for this, but this is a bug that people have to pull their ethernet cord out for. It isn't even using the game's mechanics against them like the Templar, it's artificially replicating a dropout caused to glitch the game. So if people are doing it, then I think they should take some responsibility for it rather than go 'It's all Bungie's fault, just like VoG was. I'm completely innocent'. Because that's not the case here, not from my perspective anyway. Because Bungie have delivered a pretty rock solid boss battle to close the game out on which a lot of people (mostly outside of Bigfooty) will never experience until they find a way to patch the exploit.

I tend to jump from both sides on the issue, even if I am only posting from the anti-cheese perspective. I beat Crota last week legit twice and cheesed it the third time, whilst helping a number of others to do it as well. So I'm a hypocritical commentator on this for sure, and I think most people responding are as well. I think the logo is tainted now, which is a shame. It would have been nice if people didn't use it until they had beaten it legit, but I can see why they aren't.

I know a lot of people here are aiming to beat it legit this week for the first time, and holidays have gotten in the way over the last week or so. My issue really isn't with any particular group or posters here. I'm just commentating on the wider mindset of some of the Destiny playerbase as a whole that I've seen elsewhere, or even on my own friends list. Those who cheese it and have no intention to do anything other than cheese the game in perpetuity. Then wear the icon and brag about all the cool loot they got. So this has been a lot of TLR but I figured I'd add all of my thoughts in one conclusive post and let it rest rather than post snarky posts about it for the next fortnight after I see something.

F^&* sake. Trying to get sons PS4 online in Destiny and tells me cannot play online due to parental controls... Have all controls set to allow now, but still won't let me get in...FUARK! Any ideas?

Yeh...have tried on both consoles re-setting the parental controls to max, have had both PS4s as the 'main' console..many re-boots. Read this:
