to be honest, I don't think it will make shit all difference frankly. Hawkmoon will still kill it for range over any other HC. I reckon the difference will be negligible. And if you need to quickly flick over to a sniper if it is that far away it's not that big a deal imo

Yeah, until they nerf the range on a sniper #BungieLogic :P

Those Auto Rifle stats are distorted by the stupid Iron Banner bounty and the Thorn bounty. There's no way anyone is using Atheon's Epilogue in Crucible for anything other than the Thorn bounty.

Does the Fusion Rifle nerf also impact Vex or is that in its own stat pool now?

In order to make Pulse rifles relevant they are nerfing Auto rifles and Hand Canons...and in order to make shotguns relevant they are nerfing Fusions.. Is that what I am reading?

They have nerfed Auto Rifles into irrelevance in PvE anyway. This only makes them less viable.

Not to mention that they have ruined every 331 Auto Rifle bar the Vanquisher because they have such minimal impact.

Shotguns could be very relevant on Nightfalls with Night Switch, but snipers will still be my go to secondary.

to be fair, not exactly. They are actually buffing the guns they want to improve - pulses are getting a 9.5% buff, shotguns getting a 100% PvE buff.

I personally think it's a bit of a mountain out of a molehill - they are always going to keep balancing weapon types, as they should. And it's not going to be major. I remember when they nerfed the Suros I couldn't really tell that much difference.

As long as Fatebringer keeps exploding heads....whatever :)

The Last Word will become a steaming turd with the hand cannon changes. Anything with quick RoF loses its uniqueness with the nerfing of repeat firings. Will probably severely impact the effectiveness of hand cannons in PvP as well.

I think you're probably right but I hope not. I haven't used my last word for a long time - Hawkmoon has been my go to exotic hand cannon.

I will find the perfect pulse rifle. I will never give up my search.

Just seen the weapon changes.

Now I'm not the most 'marketing savvy' person getting around so can someone please explain to me this concept of reducing the quality of things based on higher popularity?

In my eyes, it's the Devs being over controlling. They want you to play THEIR game. If something is being used - and other things that they spent time making are not being used, they want to give you a reason to use it. Otherwise they have wasted their time. Bit of an ego trip really.

Also think it's a bit of a tactic to keep people playing. The game is starting to become a bit stale again until HoW hits and they have to keep people playing until April/May...what better way than nerfing existing, top-line weapons and ensuring there are other weapons that people will want to get?
