That's a great idea. WoW used to do this with titles and a few mounts and it is/was a good indicator on how long someone had been around.

I think Chatterwhite kind of had this effect for a while before becoming more of a legendary welfare shader.

Atheon is a troll. I was forever 29 and I did my first VoG hard last night since vanilla. What did he drop? A loading screen and.... The ****ing helmet. GFY Atheon.

Fix their game? Or give me an emblem for max grimoire, or an emblem for flawless. These are the things you'd show off. The only worthwhile rare emblem right now is the one you get for killing a Bungie Dev in crucible.

think about like this- when you get killed by heavy you say 'well played' because the player got the advantage by picking up the ammo. imagine if heavy was gifted?
if supers were a map-pick up it wouldnt be so bad because the player earned the advantage.

I literally walked around a corner into a nova bomb 4 times IN A ROW on the weekend.

I literally died, respawned, turned a corner, walked into a nova bombed, died, respawned. Repeat 4 times. It was ridiculous.

If I remember correctly, out of our entire team, I think it was only Spud and Seany who were level 30 for our hard Atheon runs. I finally got my first level 30 the day before TDB released. Was a fair effort for us to get it done with mostly all 29's. With how easy Bungie have since made it to get to high level, these new guardians will never know the struggle.
 
I agree RE the easier path to highest level and the frustration, but the Destiny community won't be sustainable if new people to the game that may or not be good have to try and find a regular group on the hope of an armour drop in a raid, until they implement an in game matchmaking option for others modes, it has to be as it is at the moment.

Same with RNG, you change to reward system for PvE, you're going to have people trying to spam kills rather than trying to defeat bosses in strikes.

The only other alternative is having a completely different game and everyone starts from scratch.

In every engagement any advantage a player has over the other whether it be terrain,surprise,height,weapon or anything else should be 'earned' whether that be through skill or just luck
Having a super up gives a player an advantage that wasn't 'earned' and therefore unfair.

Are the PoE the only place to get consistent etheric light? I've done the last 3 nightfalls and still haven't earned one.

Since HoW I've done I think 24 nightfalls. Ive gotten I think 3 etherics out of them, one of which was Tuesday. I went like 13-14 nightfalls without getting a single one. So it's very rare.

PoE 34 and 35 is the most consistent way by a mile, because you're guaranteed. The other very good way to get it is Lighthouse, but clearly you need the capacity to actually get there.

And the other very consistent sure fire way is Iron Banner, but that just finished. You get one at level 3 and level 5, for 5k glimmer. I got all 3 chars to level 5 so I walked away from the week with 6 etheric lights - but I think I only did one 34 for the whole week so left a fair bit of PoE on the table

Managed to get a carefully engineered night off from the mrs for a decent gaming session that is as likely to occur again as a 3rd Ghalla drop.....
