Managed to get about half way through the raid...i think
We got up to Golgoroth
.

I have avoided spoilers past that point so i'm looking forward to see what's next. Really enjoyed it up to now.

Have the mechanics of the current boss battle down pat, it's just the communication with the people you find off the forums that stuffs it up. That's the trouble with only having a couple of regulars you play with though.

You on PS4?

A few of us raid refugees will be looking to make a new regular raid team fairly soon.

Definitely makes it easier with the same players each week.

Sunbreaker is fine. Leave it alone :)

To be honest though it's not very useful in high level pve. Since there's so many majors you can't kill most of them with the hammer. So it's not great for orbs.
Lucky I have my 290 helm of st 14 for my defender

I'll be up for doing raids and whatnot throughout the week once I've got it done a few times with the group of mates who are keen for it. Just waiting for a couple of stragglers to be ready as their light is still a little short

Yeah, defender is still the way to go for PvE. Sunbreaker absolutely wrecks in PvP though and I love it.

Did you go in blind?

Hopefully I'll be raid ready sometime this week and be able to give it a crack.

I played some of the new strikes and post story quest missions yesterday and was very impressed - if the raid is on par with that quality it's going to be awesome.

If you plan on getting the expansions you will give yourself the best chance of enjoying it.

If you just want to hop back in without buying these you will probably struggle to get back into it because so much of the game is focused on those with the expansions.
Whilst the latest expansion has made the game more enjoyable and a more rounded experience, its still the same base game. Running content to get better loot.
 
Telesto is delicious in the nightfall. Specialist + void burn makes it a breeze

Howd you find the defend the warsat part? Id imagine that would be the hardest part of the strike?

Heard some boys struggling mightily on that part last night! Running out of time to defend it seemed the issue.

I've only leveled my Titan ATM and got the helm of st 14 from the engram last week so I just used bubble once the ship started shooting at us. Did it with two mates who had hunters just below 270 - got them to use their bow to generate orbs so I could get another bubble going as I had to clear most the enemies being the higher level.

But I imagine if they went blade dancer and used invisibility it would work similarly well.

It would be a massive bitch with arc burn though that strike

Thanks guys, follow up question, if I don't have the expansions would it be more cost effective to buy the edition which includes all the content?

Yeah only 2 of my mates are actually geared (our raid team is very slack) atm to run it. Two warlocks and a hunter. I think we will be ok as we know what we are doing but my alt titan is there if we really need it.

campaigner of a thing. But if you play it structured you should be fine. IE hit ship ocean side, kill 1st wave adds immediately with rockets; then second yellow bar wave asap; ship mountain side, same again; and chain supers, it will be fine.

Nice to have a real challenge again though
