Details about your first Bigfooty post....

My first post was to ask how I could PM someone on Bigfooty.

My first PM was to seek advice from two posters (strangers) that I respected during my voyer days on bigfooty ......76woodonspooners & Scodog10.

I had information about a Premiership hero that disturbed me.

Luckily I got great advise from both but in the end I took my brothers advise and did nothing (against my nature) with my information. In hindsight it was the correct advise.

Bigfooty is like a big disfunctional family...........we have our good days and bad but in the end we our family........we are Collingwood.

In the words of Jeff Fenech.......I luvs you all ! Especially you Maggie5 ;)

Took me forever to find it and was pretty underwhelming when I did find it.

I wonder how long it'd take TradeDraft to find his first post... Would love to see it. :p

And if you look at my signature below my post in the screenshot I posted. It says I killed a son... Woops, that was not an intentional crop... :(

Cant find it (too hard). But it was October 2012, and I joined BF because I'd heard good things about Kightmare's Almanac. I was intimidated at first. Thought I'd stumbled into a forum where mostly male Pies fans shouted at each other a lot. Actually I was right about that.:D

But then I started to realise that there was a lot of huffing and puffing going on, and that most of you (deep deep down) are kind gentle souls. And that the Pies board is a broad church (to quote 76), which every day delivers on humour, insights, scurrilous gossip, lies, statistics, hero worship, sadness. And all because we support Collingwood.

This was my first post, on the Melbourne board of all places!

In hindsight i was correct and they were all wrong, (I may have just given a few cheeky likes to the people on there that had a go at me :p )

Edit: If anyone is reading that convo i did not make the BenBen profile (cant believe they thought it was me, dont think i saw it back then) and i was not Collingtimber either... Good to see TheoX was a dumb back then as he is now :)

First post was about why Port's flags don't count and VFL ones do, which is kind of boring and a still repeated argument. My 4th footy one was posted in February 2007 and is rather humorous in hindsight. Parts of a thread about club mascots turned into a Carlton vs Collingwood slanging match about which club will win a flag first and this was my contribution.

While one billionaire may bring fans out of the woodwork it takes more than that to build a half successful team. Sure Carlton would have gone same way as Fitzroy* without Pratt, but he isn't going to stop yet another spoon or at least a piss poor bottom four finish.

Not ********ting myself regarding Carlton... your club is developing quite a culture of failure.

* Fitzroy wasn't the term I used at the time

Favourite first post was in the Kirby thread by magpies2017:

'gday guys I'm from the swan hill so I will give you some infomation on the kid.. lost both his parents at a young age was fostered out to great family both his foster parents are white he's a great young kid who's Always got a smile on his face! The bad boy image is far from the truth yeah he watched the draft at the pub but that was just the easiest way for his mates and family to all be together to watch it.. on field i got the chance to watch him a number of times run around for the tyntynder seniors and wowee! The kids a machine best junior I've seen play country football in my 40 years.. people around swan hill would go watch tyntynder just to watch kayle play when he was 16 years old single handedly would win games of his own boot would take hangers kick goals from anywhere chase blokes down from behind and if he got the chance he would iron blokes out!! and this was against full grown men! he's speed, vertical leap and attack on the footy are unbelievable put that together with his marking power foot skills and sense of where the goals are he's the complete package! Only question mark is his fitness which I think the coaches will sort out very quickly apart from that the kids going to be a star! Be very excited the pies have got something special here!'

Can't find mine either. A friend talked me into joining BF but I felt quite 'lacking' in football knowledge to make any intelligent comment. (Still do actually:D)
I remember feeling rather nervous about the eyes of this great forum, all these footy experts, being on me:p, and sweated that first post big time!

It was probably something like "me too!":)

I was intrigued :p

My first post was really dorky, so not much has changed :) ...

Thoughts on the bigger prize: A gameday seat in the Collingwood coaches box, or a session with the Collingwood nutritionist?

... this needs context. It was posted in a legendary thread that began like this:

Problem with Double Header on Saturday - HELP!!!

So we play a VFL game Saturday afternoon @ 2pm so it be finshed around 4pm then we have at 7:10 pm we play the Saints.

My Massive Problem is that the 3 Hours in between I have nothing to do, I live in Somerville so it takes about 1hr - 1hr 30 Minutes to get Home then I have to get back again and that be a Massive Waist of Time. So at the Moment I am going to 1 game but I can't Decide which one?

I could go to the VFL in the Afternoon and Then Go Home and Watch the AFL on TV. VFL Game is not on TV

but I also want to go to the Grand Final Replay Re-Match because it be a Great Atmosphere and I love watching 1sts Play.

I am undecided but Leaning towards going to the VFL as that is not on TV and AFL is though it's Delayed.

Please Help me

Problem with Double Header on Saturday - HELP!!!

That thread had it all! Swooop organised a picnic at Victoria Park. We learnt about TradeDraft 's bathroom habits. vjknight was "meating" someone.

Swooop PM'ed me to welcome me to BigFooty and and I almost pooed my pants out of fear of those scarey mods :p

They originally thought I was a troll because of my username :)

The ideal first post.

What it's really all about.

The joy of footy

I'm just imaging the first posts of some of our loveable curmudgeons?

I scratched around for ages finding mine. Quite funny as it turns out. I thought Shannon Cox had just come 3rd in the time trial, just to be told he was a lap behind. He was a favourite of mine, I loved the way he had the ability to weave through traffic. Pity he spent too much time hanging around the BBQ...
