Did anyone feel slightly short-changed or cheated?

Not me, I'm still up and about. I was wearing my RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICHMOND jumper today around the house. I still watch each of the finals replays we won and in reading through the book Yellow and Black and enjoying the insights as they unfold.

I don't at all feel ripped off or that I missed a chance. I've been soooo bloody passionate about the Tigers my whole life. If they aren't doing well I'm still invested but like all of us suffer the journey. If they are doing well I'm loving it all the more.

After last season I didn't have Richmond in the top 8 let alone top 4 but I'm used to that kind of expectation after 37 years of mainly down times. I loooove that they beat the Cats in the opening final. I didn't see that coming all year because I didn't have us playing finals but I don't care one bit!! Not only did we crack a finals victory but we did it over Geelong hahahaha!!! Yesssss you beauty!!!!

I've thoroughly enjoyed the way this season has ended. The absolute lowest point for me were the losses to Fremantle and GWS in The first half of the season.

You take a look at 2016. Where did that season come from!!?? We had to endure that shocking aberration so there is no way I'm going to look at the success in 2017 in contrast as some other kind of miraculous abberation. 2016 was the mystery not 2017. 2017 is the pay off for years of determined changes. That I didn't see that coming after last year is because of the decades of misery that we've all become accustomed too.I don't judge it as less that it happened like this at all.

I'm still up and about and will be all off season. I think premierships are very hard to win. I won't see 2017 as some fluke if we don't go on and win next year. I'm just so bloody pumped that we did it at all!!!!!! Hahaha stuff you all you supporters from other clubs that have heckled and jibed and given us curry. Ninthmond is the REIGNING PREMIERE YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

STUFF THE LOT OF YAS!!! GOOOOO TIGERSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! AROOOOOOO

Is this a crack at our drafting of short players?? ;)

Nah mate absolutely elated with the win and that’s I can rub it in certain mates faces.

And as you said the elimination finals masked our true potential from the tiger army as well as the entire league. Reality is we were 1 stupid loss to Freo away from top 4 in 2015 and 2013 and beat up on the hawks and Swans during that period. What hurt us was a game plan that allowed lesser teams to stick with us, if we tackled and pressured at afl average in those years we’d have smashed lolnorf (such a slow team) and the blues
there is a flip side to the coulda woulda shoulda debate. Even last yr one more loss and we slip to 6th.Thats gotta tell ya how tight and even the comp is.
There were games we all felt we could have won and didnt but there were games where the opposite is true and we tend to ignore them.

Also there was 14 games??? where we kicked 1only 10 12 goals and the opposition were in most of these games right to the death.

We wont know if it was a bolt out of the blue where all things aligned for us where we came up with a plan/style that has stumped the opposition in the short term. Or we got a bit lucky with injuries draw etc or if we are in a dynasty.
This season will probably tell us exactly which one we were and where we are at.

We won a flag so obviously you would think we could do it again but i still feel if things dont go our way have some injuries we could finish fairly low.
I think the dogs and hawks are two teams who achieved success before expectations and both took a step backwards the following yr on the back of harder draws injuries and opposition putting a lot more work into them.Time will tell.

I've been looking for this thread for a while now.

At the halfway mark of the season, it's an emphatic NO!

Sitting here, 10-3, right now, is relaxing knowing we're going for B2B, rather than a drought breaking premiership. If we were in this situation last year, I'd have been positively shitting myself over the expectation come September. Last year it all happened so quickly I really didn't have the time.
Now we are getting as close to real dominance as you're going to get, and I'm able to really enjoy the view from up here, not worry about where we go next.
