Moving your best HF option to the last line of defence?

Whitnall looked more dangerous than Richo in the first half then he's moved out of the action.

Pagan you are a joke.

And has anyone informed him of the new kick-in rules? Carlton would form a huddle and wait for the umpires flags to be packed away before making a move. Richmond were lining up for goal by the time the umpires had finished signalling a Carlton point.

Pagan's only skills now is the next starring role in Weekend at Bernie's 3 (he's a braindead twit).

After last nights effort I have lost all respect for Pagan, all respect.

It was a joke.

In fact, I would think about blaming the rest of the coaching stuff as well.

Skills are crap, decisions are crap.

Mr Smorgon will be keeping a close eye on things because after last night - our worst effort for the season (everyone agree?) - Pagan would be a step closer to receiving a tap on the arse crack.

Why should he have to?

His post is completely true

No, it's not and we don't need an Eagles' loser starting a thread on this board to sink the boot. There are other threads here that have raised this already and here for Carlton fans to discuss the game. And there is a sticky thread at the top warning opposition fans that there is zero tolerance of trolls on here.

And Lance would have kicked 15.

It would have been a shootout if Lance stayed forward.

I still don't understand why Pagan moved Lance back. Richo didn't kick five in the first quarter or anything FOR :D:D:D:D SAKE! Thornton was doing okay, Richo wasn't "dominating" him - because you only had to look at the scoreboard and we WERE in FRONT.

I will never forgive the move.

Not trolling here at all, but one reason why Lance may have been moved back is because he is unnaccountable when foward. Sure Bowden was playing wide of Lance but Bowden was being more damaging setting up alot of our plays.

You had Fev and Waite down there that should've been enough talls, and if Waite could've held a few more marks....

Just a possability.

Oh and Richo wouldn't have kicked 15, more like 8.17 ;)

If Lance can't match Richo for strength in a contest what hope does Thornton have?

Lance going back is a cop out and we had enough options up forward to win without him up forward.

Perhaps we should ask what Fisher, Waite and Fevola did last night?

Maybe we should discuss this free kick that Darcy judged as a disgrace?

I don't think it is a cop out.

Waite, Fev and Lance would have been all deadly if Lance stuck around.

Lance created everything in the first quarter, so there is certainly no way it was a cop out and an excuse because we lost. Lance going back contributed to us losing, surely you can agree with that.

Livingstone should have been selected to play on Richo.....our only chance for victory last night was for Lance to play forward ...the Tigers had no answer to him. ...bad bad move pagan

You have this so wrong. Lance was the reason we were 19 points in front at quarter time. Given a full match on Bowden he would have been far more effective than Bowden, with his ability to bring so many others into the play while inflicting scoreboard damage himself. The sigh of relief that Terry Wallace let out when he saw Lance heading to Carlton's defence could be heard right up here in Brissie.

Well Im on the Gold Coast which is actually closer to Melbourne than Brissie and I didnt hear any sigh:rolleyes:

Lance Whitnall is not an accountable foward, he will let his man run off and cause irrepearable damage going the other way, and seeing as though TW chose to place Bowden on him, Lance was probably going to cost you more in the end than he'd create. Denis to his credit recognised this.

Why do you think we were so dominant in the second Qtr?

Lance is fine up foward when the opposition put a pure defender on him, but if they place a defending attacker and playmaker like Joel, then he's a liability.

LOL a liability. Give me strength for goodness sake.

23% winning record at the Blues and dropping with every game.

How much you paying him again :D

I think we can reign this in a little bit. Cypher is dead right in that this is our board and even though some of our supporters might agree with the sentiments expressed, the ones that don't agree don't have to hear it from opposition supporters on this board.

Flying close to the wind some people.

The Tigers skills and delivery to their forwards and ball usage was superior to ours, so think we're taking a bit of credit away from the Tigers in saying Lance going bacl was the reason we lost. With lack of pressure from our midfield stars like Scotland, Stevens and Kouta it's no surprise Richo dominated the stats sheet.

How we can expect honestly expect to compete with the cream of the competition, let alone the other poor sides when our side is made of rookie selections, second stringers from other clubs such as French, Scotland, McGrath, etc.(need I go on!) and players who were taken in rounds 3-7 of the draft?

It's no excuse for poor coaching strategies but you can't make a silk purse out a sows ears.:o

Our skills were bad enough playing in an indoor stadium let alone on a wet night at the MCG! :thumbsd:

Which players have improved their kicking after coaching from someone as skilled as Liberatore?
