Just curious about other supporters thoughts on Didak of late?
Yes he's come back from a reco and nobody expects him to light up every single game he plays in but he's been pretty flat last few weeks and just curious as to thoughts on why that might be.

First 2 games on return for Didak he totally fired up. But in the 3rd he came down from a marking contest and didn't land well.
Consequently since that game he's been pretty much missing in action.
Doesn't look dangerous and just doesn't seem to be himself at the moment.

Is he being ganged up on now by defenders? Do people think perhaps he's injured after landing awkwardly a few weeks ago?
Or is he just having a bit of a form slump like everybody does on occasion?

On a sidenote how well is Travis Cloke coming along? Big smiles all round there.

I seem to recall Nathan Brown coming back and tearing it up, i think against us, then fading back into obscurity before injury. Maybe Did's had the excitement and adrenalin of being back help him through the first few games, now he is needing to summon his professionalism to reignite his season. The ball was bombed continuously into our forward 50 making it hard for any forwards. He is a gun, he'll be back!

Gets mugged most times he goes near the ball. It's what happens when you're an All-Australian and play for Collingwood.

Wasn't hopeless yesterday, played on an in-form defender in Bell who Melbourne rate very highly, had to push up the ground to get a touch because everytime the ball came inside 50 in the air, Rocca either:

a. got mugged
b. got triple-teamed
c. gave away a free kick

which all in all made it very hard for the likes of Didak and Davis to swoop on the loose ball as they had been doing so well for the last few weeks, especially Davis.

I'd reckon we need to rest him before finals, but the next 4 weeks are crucial games as all are 50-50: Sydney away, Hawthorn, Geelong, St Kilda.

He has been really frustrating me the past couple of weeks. He's been shirking a few contests and trying things that maybe he's not ready to do so soon after coming back from a knee reco which looks terrible when they don't come off.

I still love the bloke and he's still a gun but maybe his first couple of games got everybody's hopes up that he'd bounce straight back into the team in AA form.

Don't start doubting Dids or I'll rip your arms off. Seriously, he will be fine, some great signs froom him in the last quarter, worked his butt off.

Don't ever underestimate the disadvantages associated with having an interupted pre-season in this modern age of football...:thumbsu:

Yes same applies to Johnson who is just starting to regain form after being pretty flat the first few games - hopefully Dids will follow suit in next few weeks, and is not carrying anything.

be very happy that he is playing that well! it took lockeyer 2 years of being crap before he came good, gaspar never recovered. it is one of the worst injuries to sustain. it takes a long while before you physically and mentally function properly

Agreed. I also thought Johnno is starting to get back to his best that we have missed. So much run with him and Heater and Racer all in the one team. Good times ahead after we get players back from injury.

I reckon he's looked a bit proppy the last 2-3 weeks. Will improve as the season goes on as he gets more run in his legs.

He is my favourite player, has been since we drafted him. But Ive been really disappointed with his discipline. He has always been a smartarse, but these days he is really being stupid and giving away too much at times. He did it against Freo, and he did it yesterday too. Needs to pull his head in and grow up. Its not a one man team. His stupidity is causing others to work harder when we already have a hard working team doing its best.

He is playing well for a player everyone had written off for "most of the year" and would be part of why we'd finish bottom 4. Even his 3-4 goal games this year weren't that sharp, he is still not fit, but he is such a good finisher he can get by. Once he gains fitness he will be able to get more of the ball, when he gets more of the ball some of his composure will return.
