This week truly has been the biggest disaster since, well, I can't remember.

First Lynchy and Lloydy are suspended for the most trivial of offences (with the former being the victim of an incompetent goal umpire being incited by unruly fans behind the goals) on record IMO. Then the most evil of terrorist attacks wreaks havoc in NYC killing and injuring thousands and affecting thousands more financially; Dimetriou bans the Lions from using IV drips - a sacred ritual being carried out for two and a half years... And then those arrogant pricks from kiwi land ripping the heart and soul out of the aviation industry with their go-slow tactics and traditional Australian back-stabbing culminating in Ansett's demise. NZ and all of those muslim barstards (Yes! Call me a racist - I dont give a s.h.i.t after this week) can all rot in hell for all I care.

What are the ultimate results of this week?

- Tens of thousands of jobs have been lost in both Ansett's colapse as well as the NYC suicide bombing.

- Thousands of people have been seriously injured or killed, as well as leaving thousands widowed or orphaned as a result.

- Lynchy could have played his last game last week.

- World War III is most certainly on the cards.

Yes folks, life really sux!!!

Oh my heart bleeds for Lynch. He could of played his last game. What a bloody pity. Did you even see the incident you dikhead? If Wakelin did that to Lynch youd be screaming bloody murder...yet because one of your beloved players that did it, you reckon its unfair

Unbelivable how completly pathetic and bias someone can be. Maybe you should tell Mr Lynch not to punch people in the face.

i agree with macca on this one... sorry. How can u even put the suspensions of old man lynch and pretty boy lloyd in the same boat as the WTC and pentagon bombings. i hardly think they rate in comparison. thousands of people lost their lives (including australians) and 2 footballers got suspended. Which one do u think stopped the world in its tracks? not the suspensions i tell u.

I saw exactly what happened thank you very much - I was sitting at the school end in the 2nd tier.. Wakelin was being a bit of a s.h.i.t stirrer and took a sipe at Lynch that missed before grabing hold of his arm and attempting to strike Lynch again. The incident that Mr. Gourlay saw was Lynch PUSHING Wakelin in the face, while the unruly Port supporters were screaming out "Look at 'em! Report 'em, Report 'em..." and that was all it took for the guy to be swayed.

And I suppose you were at the ground and thought otherwise eh? Maybe you should inform your own supporters that throwing missiles onto the ground won't be tolerated... If I remember correctly the Port cheersquad attracted a bit of attention from the gabba security.

I rckon Lynch was unlucky.

Did you see the incident? It was more of a forceful shove, rather than a strike. That's how it looked to me anyway.

Dan: forceful shove or strike it doesnt matter...he connected with a fist/wrist to the face. Nick Stevens got 2 weeks last year for something 5x as soft as that against the Bulldogs. It was high, it was clumsy - he got reported and suspended.

Vossy: who gives a crap if the Port cheersquad persuaded the goal umpire to have a look at what was going on. I strongly doubt that the Port cheersquad would have an effect on a goal umpire...otherwise you would see behinds being counted as goals for port. It doesnt that i wasnt at the ground...the footage was bad enough. He deserves to be reported...and as i said...you seem to be scathing of Wakelin attempting to strike and being a **** stirrer, yet you think its all fine that Lynch connected with a fist/wrist to Wakelins face.
Talk about bias. Bloody ridiculous. And of course poor little Lynchys "possible" last game stacks up really close to the WTC bombing and the liquidation of Ansett, and the possibility of WW3!!
Did you feel a bit intimidated by the Port cheersquad?? Cheering too much for you were they?? You wont be the first nor the last if you were intimidated

I didn't mean to bring these issues out of context Macca - I agree the tribunal hearings pale into insignificance in comparison to the tragic events in the US as well as Ansett's demise.. What I was saying was merely in retaliation into some of the garbage that has been posted on Bigfooty in the last week.

As for the Port c/s - was I intimidated by them? Hell no.. I was just informing you that what may be acceptable in SA footy grounds does not necessarily apply to others elsewhere.

Anyway, let's get back to the footy.

How can you compare thousands getting killed to someone that kicks a bit of leather around as a tragedy?

The events over the last week proves that sport is so unimportant compared to the fight against terrorism, but, it can provide the solace we all need after Tuesday Night.
