just thought id say how dissapointed and disgusted i am at all crows supporters after tonight. Seeing how they decided to boo Francou Tredrea and Stevens as they ran onto the ground tonight in the IR game.....its Australia people - not a club game...

completly pathetic, and those that booed should feel ashamed of themselves

Not being at the game, if that happened, as a Crows supporter, I would be embarassed.

Some of the most enjoyable games I have been to were the State games Vs Vics when all SA supporters have got behind to cheer the Croweaters - every player regardless of which club they played for. Same should have gone with supporting the Aussies playing the Irish.

Also, it was strange how Rehny was booed this year. Whilst I was upset at him leaving, its best not to take this sort of action with one of the club's best ever players & major contributer to 2 premiership cups.

God reminds me of a SoO game I went to a few years back. I made a comment to my friend that Lyle was playing well and the lady next to me gave me **** about being a Port supporter (for crying out loud, me of all people. I am a Norwood/Crows man.. the anti-Port ).

Some people can't look past the ends of their own noses sometimes, and its a bit sad.

Oh and Macca I'm sure you would have heard booing from Port fans if there had been a greater proportion, for the Crows players. Its a stupid person thing, not a club thing, and all clubs have stupid people.

On another post I said that the best things about the game last night were the fireworks, the Mexican wave, and the stoush in the last quarter......but I forgot the best thing of all.....booing those Port Power players!!! All part and parcel of home-town rivalry. And some of the Victorian players got a raspberry as well.

Don't be so precious.

thats really really pathetic!! they are playing for australia - not for Port Adelaide.

What i found funny was some guy behind me fully started abusing Nick Stevens for missing his first shot at girl early in the first quarter....2 minutes later Goodwin let thru a fairly easy goal into the net....i turned around and cut sick at him - he didnt take too lightly at the abuse pointed at Goodwin.

what would you of done if Tredrea or Francou had kicked the winning goal to put Australia 7 points up after the siren to win the trophy?? would you still of booed him as he was taking the shot and after kicking the winning goal?

The players that were playing out there, were not representing the clubs, they were representing Australia and the residents of Australia (us).

Booing a player on the Aussie side, is the same as me booing a Swans player on match day.

Sad really.

I guess things are different now.

In the mid 80s when we had those huge SOO games, we found ourselves cheering for Port/Norwood/Glenelg players etc., now that wouldn't happen. Pretty sad, really.

Perhaps it's a reflection on the Crows supporters who started following the game when the banwagon started it's engine in 1991.

One of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.
Maybe it's just that the cows supporters can't forget that Tredrea usually destroys them in Showdowns, which the cows don't seem to be able to win.

I gotta say that I am guilty of sledging Goodwin after his game one blunders (and perhaps game two also), but at the time of the incidents, I was disappointed to see Australia getting beaten...not sledging Goodwin, or Adelaide. My most disliked player in the AFL is Matty Lloyd, but I found myself cheering when he slotted that goal. It is Australian, not club support, that should be shown.
