Put it this way - at least its not like the western end of Righetti Oval that had one leg of the goal square 9m long and the other only 8. Thoroughly discombobulated my depth perception that day, it did. I umpired with a distinct right hand lean half the day (when not snorkelling through the liquid mud at the other end).

Both 1sts and 2nds were good games and both clubs will be there at the pointy end of the season. The only downside was the PEGS reserves coach , who made an absolute fool of himself by declaring the Ormond are a shit suburban club , in hear shot of many.

Perhaps said reserves coach might learn about Ormond, their formation & the origin of their colours before he puts his foot in his mouth!

Being a member of a district club I have heard this many a time by some of the private school elite.

Hmmm.....so Friars are now two games and 10% off 8th and I'd have to concede we are short odds for D2 in 2018.

Such a shame but sadly we simply can't resist the inevitable fact that the direction we have chosen in the past few seasons has backfired.

Too many players leaving. Not enough experience remaining. Not competently coached. Under 19s dropping down two grades to remain competitive. It all adds up.

If we have to regroup in Div 2 - so be it. It was "the way the Lord intended".

Whilst I never rejoice in another club having a challenging year, as we have all been there, we were very happy to get the points today against the Friars and push into a better position and get our third win for the season.

The game was anyone's at half time but we played some good football in the third to open up the game. We are already a young senior club, but playing two more 17 year olds who played well themselves was a bonus on top of a very important 4 points.

Big return game against the bullants next week at home who absolutely smashed us in round one. Another week another challenge.

Happy Chump.

managed to get off the plane (missed my tips) just in time Saturday to head down and watch SMS vs JOCS...credit to the jocs for their pressure they really had a crack...and well done to #29 for possibly costing them the game...2 goals down with about 10mins to go and with the ball just outside the jocs forward line, the peanut decided to wack a bloke behind play (jocs footy of old) free kick to SMS and goal! didn't seem to get reported but I'm tipping he might be running out at 11.40 this week!...SMS with some notable outs, JOCs had a few standing on the sidelines also but no real notable names...could end up being the difference between D1 and D2 in 2018!

all other games seemed to go as expected, looks to be a good round coming up this week!

No problem at all with who he picks , just saying that he keeps picking against them. Should be a great game with good weather.

And he picked Therry last week against the Monders at home , reckon he might have something to do with Kew.
