People can blame the VAFA but all these paid clubs trying to survive offering genuine poor footballers decent money is the issue. Nunawading and Doncaster returning has just hurt other clubs.

BHN's plight is partially self inflicted. Would clubbies fix everything?

Sad as they had 3 teams in 2024, plus a womens and a masters.

Over 30 players were ready to play club 18’s this weekend. A lot came back to help the club provided it was in the thirds comp and not have play senior footy as they’re not at that level.

Still have a strong men’s over 35’s, 50’s, 55’s and woman’s over 35’s.

In 2016 there were 70 clubs participating across seven divisions. The fall in clubs has been sharp and shows no sign of easing.

Where is last years senior squad. People have talked about the transfer page but I see no more than 2 half decent BHN players that have put in for one.

Surely some blame goes on Tomasoni for dressing like an idiot and Williams for dressing up in black face and loading up with a large dildo. Captain and VC.

I love whacking the VAFA as much as anyone but BHN decided to completely ignore their women's captain which has costs them there and now they've lost two men's team for failing to act.

Truly a shambles and an absolute shame for the good blokes at the club who were committed to playing

Where is last years senior squad. People have talked about the transfer page but I see no more than 2 half decent BHN players that have put in for one.

The transfer page doesn't show transfers out to different leagues.

All leagues have this issues except the EDFL, who have managed to figure out how to show both transfers in and transfers out.

I believe she wanted game suspensions and players stood down from leadership positions (looks like she got her way).

Also note: The AFL Vic investigator did not sustain the blackface charge.

They mainly left because they had cash offers from other clubs in the area and didn't want to play in The Thirds.

The costume was called "Tanned Willy Man" which is still for sale. Clearly not blackface ... certainly in bad taste.

As for cash offers gee, who would you pay from that side? Had a few good players but the rest were battlers at best. Sounds like if cash is the reason then the club was losing their seniors and ressies regardless of the VAFA suspensions

Let's not throw the VAFA completely under the bus, I understand BHN were asked where they sat months ago. They were confident of being more than capable of sustaining a level fit for D3.

The resurgence of local clubs and the ridiculous cash being thrown around for footballers who don't deserve it, has led to them (BHN) believing they will be uncompetitive and requested to play Clubbies.

A fair cop out tbh, if every club who didn't think they'd be competitive asked to do down at the 11th hour the competition would be more of shambles than it already is.

They have 3 teams that I know of with 2 x Thirds Teams (Masala, Swinburne and Chadstone) who are/were is a much stronger on-field position.

Who all asked to go down at the end of last season.

Asking to go down 30 days ago is an almost impossible task to facilitate. I never want to see people denied the opportunity to play a game of football but some of the blame still needs to lie with BHN.

It's actually very easy to facilitate as Thirds team submissions were end of March and now the have to deal with 5 team D3 anyway.

The VAFA spent 5+ weeks trying to bully BHN into playing D3 instead of accepting the reality of the situation, we simply didn't have the numbers to field a side in D3. The VAFA refused to listen.

So majority of those leaving were offered cash from other clubs?

Wonder if those left over play elsewhere (Forest Hill and Nuna have no reserves as it sits) or sit the year out
