Do Geelong supporters actually rate their side?? (Bumped)

A simple question, do Geelong supporters actually rate their side?? i have a few friends who follow the cats and they feel they have the right to hang sh1t on carlton fans, but my understanding is Geelong is in a position where they are going to finish between 8-12 on the ladder for the next 5 years. they have a great coach, and when i say great, i mean he doesn't just treat his players with a lot of attention, but also their girlfriends and a captain who last played when Billy Brownless was under 100Kg's. Apart from this Hawkins character, who else have they got?? and i don't want to here the name ablett, possibly the most overrated name in AFL.

Geelong will give Carlton another slacking this year, will be another 5 years before Carlton resembles a good finals squad.

Wow, Bryce Gibbs must be some kind of talent if he's going to single handedly overturn an 11 goal margin in what will be his second senior game.

And yes, Geelong supporters do rate their side, just like every supporter does this time of year. Is the faith in our side's list justified? Guess we'll find out in about 8 months time.

I agree. They do rate heir side which is a joke. Geelong supporters are the reason for the continual underachievement of their team. Grow some balls cat fans.

It could be worse. We could support a side who has made the finals twice in 25 years, and then sit at our computers and say that supporters of other teams accept mediocrity.

Yes cat fans do rate their team, just like most other supporters rate their sides (hence why people buy memberships, funny that eh.)

Ask most supporters and they will tell you that we have a very even list. Not a star studded line up like some sides but still we are more than capeable of beating any side on any given day.

Stripes666 - As you are a Tigers supporter you are not allowed to commennt on other sides supporters. Spitting on coaches, cutting up memberships and the great horse manure dumping at Punt Rd were just some of the more memorable stunts comming from the so called Tiger faithful.

And as for you Pratty, even though McCarthy towelled you guys up in 06, we still decided he wasn't worth hanging on to. I guess someone else will just step up and kick a bag against you. Come to think of it, Thurley gave you a touch up the previous year and he was a stinker aswell.

So you would prefer to make the finals and fail year after year? If your side is going to make it that often you would hope they would win the thing every now and then instead of the constant getting your hopes up and watching them fail.

This from someone who's taken so much pride in Richmond's propensity to finish just outside the finals that their screen name reflects it.

We won't talk about 1994 and 2000 when Richmond only had to win in the last round in order to make the finals but tanked and lost by 76 and 73 points respectively to take their rightful position at 9th position. Marvellous stuff!

Of course you would like to win but you have to give yourself that chance by getting into the Grandfinal in the first place, something Richmond have not achieved in a longtime.

Yes but lets see the Tigers last 5 GF appearances: 3 wins and 2 losses when we get there we win them, Cats get there and choke. Please tell me the last side to win a Prelim by 15 goals and lose a Grand Final by 10 goals. In fact name the last team to lose 2 consecutive Grand finals by 10 goals or more. Give you a clue you support them.

FYI I've been a Geelong supporter for all my life and a member since '93, so I've been supporting them through the lean times as well as when they made the finals.

Unlike Richmond who had to shake some tins outside the ground to survive in the 80's, before all the bandwagon jumpers came out of the woodwork when they finally came good for a couple of seasons in the mid 90's, only to go back into hibernation when they slid down the ladder again a few years later.
