Davis keeps gridiron options open
Sydney Swans midfielder Nick Davis says he would seriously consider leaving the club if he received a firm offer to punt in the American National Football League (NFL).
This morning the Swans and the Kangaroos left for Los Angeles, where they will face off in an exhibition match on Monday (Australian time) which is expected to attract the attention of NFL talent scouts.
Davis confirmed he was thinking in terms of following in the footsteps of AFL players like Ben Graham and Darren Bennett who went on to succeed in the NFL.
"If a rock solid option came up tomorrow you'd have to consider it," he said.
"It's a big move going over there ... and leaving a two-year contract with the Swans, so it's probably something I wouldn't do unless it was really rock solid."
"But if someone was to come over to me while I'm over there and say, 'Have a kick of this', I'll do it for sure."
