Just been paying attention to what ex footballers have been saying, ranging from Bucks to Archer, and they all have basically said that when they had a problem at a club, the football manager was the first and most approachable person.

Geoff Walsh is currently our FM, and i dont think it's a coincidence that since Balme left our behavior has declined.

This seems to be the view based on ex players statements, and one thing's for sure, something has to be done after this season to improve our character and behavior.

Just a thought, what do you guys/girls think.

Yes and why was Balme sacked? That is a total mystery and might be very illuminating. Geelong certainly haven't gone backwards since he moved there.

Don't give me this Balme crap. A couple of years ago he was public enemy #1 with everyone. Stuffing up trades. There was an incident at a hotel part where he was there and unable to stop it.
OK, didn't hear about that. Yet Geelong were dumb enough to take him anyway, poor fools and look at them now :D:D
Collingwood really knows how to bring the best out of people!

balme couldnt control anything that is why he was asked to leave, Balme was too approachable.

In saying that there is some type of problem at teh club and hopefully these susupensions are on the way to fixing it

OK well good to hear a bit about the BAlme story since I had always wondered a bit. EAsy to be cynical right now about the Woods, but I suppose an alternative view is he just happened to be a better fit at Geelong.

The players themselves, (mostly harley) set down the law there. Balme doesnt have to and doesnt do alot

Back on topic yes we do need a new Football Manager.

I can't wait until FM 2009. FM 2008 even with the new patch is way too buggy. Although with Nottingham Forest making the Championship, in FM2009 what club can I take from League One two the Premierleauge and beyond? Notts Co? (the original black and white stripes).

What are the responsibilities of the Football Manager?

i am unsure also... what are the roles of a football manager.. game day and behind the scenes

To manage the footballs.....daaaaaaaaaaaaahh

Dude, I don't care what I have to do, but when it DOES come out, I will drive to ANYWHERE in Melbourne to pick up a burnt copy from you, I'm sick of having to create Anderson & Nani for Man Utd.

i think the op is onto something. walsh is lucky i'm not doing his performance review. no one said it was an easy job but we still expect it to be done well. if didak goes i'll want his head too

I haven't seen or heard much of him since he took over but from what I heard of the press conference I was very impressed. Very articulate and shrewd thoughts, Geoff Walsh is one of the best FM's out there in the league...

If we could get better, I'd say we would.
