Pretty self explanatory... do you? and if u wanna, why/ why not?

i think we will, because Waite normally does a pretty god job on Riewoldt, our biggest threat, and i think we have adequate cover for the other targets down forward like Jammo on F-ugly-raser, etc, etc. I think we can also match up in the midfield and, for once, the ruck division. Also, we have a few good targets down forward for a fairly inexperienced backline.

Also, i would like to see Betts possibly play on Milne, same height, same speed i would think, probably a good way of getting Eddie in to the game as a run-off-the-backline type of player, thoughts?

The ruck question is interesting - for us getting first use of the ball will be a bonus -

BUT

What will be the impact on the saints when there game plan goes pear shaped...

Still think we going to get splattered like a like an old moles.....nose.

The only real chance we have of winning is if we control the midfield and not allow St. Kilda to manipulate the movement of the ball in their favour. If we can get the ball from the get go and deliver good kicks forward, we should be alright.

HOWEVER,

That's a lot to ask from an 'inexperienced' midfield and rucking unit. For us to win the ball from the get go, it more or less means that we most likely have to nick the ball from a) Gardiner's taps or b) good tackling/pressure and a turn over. Please proove me wrong Hammer!

If they do manage to get the ball down into their forward line, I think we're more than done for. Gherig's big body, Koschitzke's tall structure and Reiwoldt's athleticism is hard to combat with our backline. All roads point to St. Kilda taking this one out, it more comes down to our determination to win this game. If our boys really tried and reached down for the good stuff, we could definately win this game.

I just checked the calender i thought it was April fools day?

I think we should leave Bettsy to do what he's doing at the moment. He's doing what's expected of him (touching the ball a couple of times per quarter) and kicking a couple of goals. I'm very happy with what he's doing right now, and i've got a feeling Ratten does aswell. Bannister or someone like himself will probably get the gig.

Carlton will surprise everybody this saturday with an upset win over the saints

;)Carlton 15.11.101;)
:mad:St.Kilda 14.09.93:mad:

I am not just saying this because I am a Carlton supporter, But Carlton have had a week to gel together and St.Kilda were less than impressive last week, If Carlton can keep St.Kilda playing ugly footy they will beat the saint, I dont know why St.Kilda are on par with Geelong as premiership favorites, They are really not that good!

:thumbsu:GO BLUE BAGGERS!!!:thumbsu:

But Carlton have no players out, so that is irrelevant thing to say.

its more about belief

we believed we could win now with a no name team

we should be able to win with a full strength team!!

yep, call it a gut feeling, but i think we're a big chance. we need to put pressure on their backline, which isn't all that crash hot i dont think. its more of a running backline, so our forwards need to put more pressure on them when they have the ball.

oh and we've got to kick the goals when given the chance. having fish back enhances our chances.

The obvious answer is no.

The fact is Carlton are yet to play 4 full quarters of football in years, and show the passion, spirit, dedication, self belief and confidence to win.

You get them to give me the commitment that Essendon gave last week, and then I think we are a chance.

It is not just physical, it is above the shoulders.....

No, I don't think we'll win. In fact, I have a horrible feeling about this game....Fraser's coming in and I reckon he'll kick plenty.

We just don't have the cattle to trouble them seriously yet.

Either way, it's going to be a VERY ugly game. Either we'll revert to very ugly tactics and gameplan in an attempt to get close, or the Saints will blow us out of the water making it ugly for a different reason.

The Saints always kill us so - NO i dont, and a win against any other side this year is also highly unlikely! I love my baggers but honselty we STILL are an average side!:(
