IMO, Jimmy was twice the player Yze is and deserves to hold that record. Yze will get to the record because he is one of Daniher's favourites, not because he earnt it.

No. I'm sick of Yze, he's supposed to be one of the vets on this team, a so-called "leader", if you will, but he has no initiative, and would much rather anyone else do the hard work. I dont care how someone's built, if the ball's not being won for your team, you go and bloody well get it yourself.[/rant]
In conclusion, like allstar said, Jimmy was twice the player Yze is. It'd be doing a disservice to Jimmy, and really show the club for what it is these days: one that rewards mediocrity.

Well, the short answer is no.....the long answer is also no.
Even though he has been a loyal servant to the club, he just isn't in the same league as Stynes. The reason why he will break this record is because he never gets himself in a position where he could get injured. As someone said above he is always looking for cheap kicks. He avoids body contact as often as possible. It is quite disgraceful for an AFL footballer.
Green is in the same league, sure he got over 20 touches v Carlton, but did he actually earn any of them?

I want him to take the record but I want him to play well. I didn't really notice him at the weekend but I think this is getting a bit out of hand guys, he was never ever a hard player. I'll make my judgement after a couple more games.

After his performance on the weekend, honestly am not concerned with the record. It would appear that Adem might be because on the weekend, his decision making which is normally so good was horrendous!
I cannot believe this is the same player! The bloke that led the comp in rebounds from defensive 50m, that ran through the lines and delivered nipple up. I want him back to his best.. he can play anywhere on the park as far as i am concerned but he needs to show us...
He needs to extract the digit and show he is a team leader, a team player and that he has the melbourne footy club at the top of the list.

I'll give him two more games to perform. If he doesn't drop him for CJ because CJ will go in and his skills have been better than Yze's.
Personally I think it was the stint on the forwardline that encouraged bad habits such as not going for the hard ball, skirting the packs, not chasing and not tackling (He had 0 tackles on Sunday! 0!).

I don't care if Yze breaks the record, I care if he breaks the record despite playing the way he's been playing for about two seasons now. His body language, attitude, and output is not acceptable. He is getting a game based on reputation, which is absolute rubbish. If he changes his game, then by all means go for the record. But he's been in cruise control for too long, and it sends the wrong message to our young players.
So you can enjoy living in mediocrity land, but I just want to see this club win a flag!
