Driving home from the Kangas game on the weekend Connolly was pulled over doing 145km/h in a 60km/h zone. He was fined $350 and 4 demerit points.

When the police asked Connolly why he was speeding, he replied "i will do anything to get 4 points"

I love it :D

Refer to the appropriate thread on EFH. An even better punchline.

A 16 year old kid from Afghanistan is in immigration detention. Turns out that he is quite a good footballer. Anyway Chris Connolly and his staff go up and check him out and take him down to fremantle training to see what he's really made of. When adressing the team Connolly turns towards the Afghan Kid pointing to a ball and says..."Ball",....."Kick - Ball through Goal!!!"
THe Afghan Kid stands up and says, "actually Mr connolly, in my years in detention i've developed quite a sound understanding of the english language"

Connolly replies..."Sit down kid i was talking to Jeff Farmer"

News Update

Lawyers for Connolly are now denying the charges, citing clear and open
evidence that Connolly has no knowledge of any activity that may lead to
four points. They also point out that he was driving a mini-bus (as he
is not capable of the responsibilities that go with a Coach), and the
number of Fremantle passengers on board clearly would have prevented any
forward motion. Furthermore, Connolly's long standing practice of
stopping to remove players that may be causing forward acceleration
because it's time for them to get off would also have prevented the
alleged offence.

The case is listed to be heard in September as Connolly expects to have
a vacant calendar for the month.
