I have a good mind to print out all the replies in this thread and post them to the sponsors of that crap site and advised them that they dont speak for all Docker fans .

Shane Richmond I challenge you to a open debate on any radio sports channel you choose , on your Nazi and controlling style on your forum site .

Your claim to be a independent Docker site is laughable and your sidekick Greg has advised me in email that the DVD thingo guy who sponsor`s your site has input into what goes on there ... No talk about CC ...

What Cameron said. Dockerland must win the award for the most contentious AFL site in existance, members from every club hate it to an amazing degree.

Cam , he does`nt have to please me , but at least be honest and advise people that only one view is allowed ...Not say nothing and you read all this wind blowing up the backside on how well things are going for FFC , and people reading think wait a minute I dont agree with that point of view and (blockland pre-amble states talk about anything )so you write something and its get deleted ...So he does`nt allow for any opposing views ...

He would get more respect if he just announced the procedure on whats allowed and not allowed ...

I don't want to get into a discussion about how Dockerland is run on this site, it's got bugger all to do with the people Big Footy and you've emailed enough to have our point of view - but I have to take you to task on the comment that Greg said that Rick Hart has input into Dockerland.

Greg didn't say it because it's not true.

As I've explained to you previously Topdock, all we have is an advertising agreement with the Rick Hart company similar to the one we have with Regis Computers, Carbiz Autos, The Sail & Anchor and anyone else I've forgotten. We get a lot of visitors to the site and give them a bit of value for money in promoting their businesses. Rick Hart the man probably doesn't even read the site, I've never met him, spoken to him or walked past him in the street.

How the message board at Dockerland is run is not something new, I've been doing it the same way for 6 years. The criticism of the site goes back a long way, well before Rick Hart was even involved with the club and a long time before his business sponsored Dockerland. Lucky for all those people who take the time to tell me what they think of me, there are several other websites around that offer a range of different styles that they can post on and get their message across to the internet reading public.

Just to illustrate the point, here's an email from the 19th of October 2001

Why would a post be removed or would someone have trouble getting their posts to be accepted. I thought thisi was a discussion board. Or does everyon have to have the same opinion on this site?

My point was that my posts weren't even bloody controversial, they certainly weren;t Docker bashing...
Maybe you shouldn't call it Dockerland..."Matesland", maybe?

I seriously hope that those that post on Dockerland truely understand the meaning of propoganda.

Shane and Associates have perfected the art of manipulation and have sucked many in, mainly through carefuly edited posts that enhance the values of Fremantle and censor everything negative (to the detriment of free speech).

Now I hear you say, "who would say anything negative against Freo" well an even discussion is surely better then the objectives based agenda of that site.

There are many from DL that have accused other sites of being negative and counterproductive but herein lies the problem with DL. It edits post (and don't lie, I know you have been deleted) to suit it's own agenda.

The tragedy in all of this is that everyone else thoughout the country associates Freo supporters with Dockerland and that dissapoints me....Why because it simply doesn't represent every Freo supporter (certainly not me or many of my Freo friends).

We don't all live in thateditorial wonderland Shane created and I for one won't dragged into that purile nazi-ism nonsense.

Again, for all those who seem to enjoy that site......WAKE ****EN UP!!!!!!
 
Why do you want me to wake up at 10:45pm? I should be going to sleep regardless of my opinions of Dockerland.

Really though = quality posts that are worth reading stay on DL. The rest are deleted as they add nothing to the site. Just like similar comments would not be remembered if in a conversation. So really even with deletion, DL is at least as good as a conversation with anyone who cares to listen.

I mean this is like a thread telling people who like a flavour milkshake that you don't personally like that they should wake up and realise it is a shizen flavour. But they like it. And the guy who makes the flavour is happy to make it, and doesn;t give a rats clacker if you like some other flavour or not.

It may be a cultural difference, but I get really edgy when people start draggin things like propaganda and nazi's into an argument. I can't believe Barra got away with calling Shane a nazi on a public broadcast. That's a serious, punishable offence on my side of the pond.

Anyway, spitlizard, propaganda is forcefed to you by a governing body, reading dockerland is a choice, more like the house of a mate you visit. His place, his rules. If you don't like it, don't visit, just don't whine and complain if you get told of for ****ting on the furniture.

In that way Bigfooty & Dockerland are incomparable, Bigfooty is much more the marketplace, where less people care what you say, but for me it won't get the homey feel of Dockerland.

Each to his own, I guess :thumbsu:
