That must be the most pissweak suspension in the history of the game. Seriously, you see that shit 10 times a game.

The MRP is clearly biased against Freo. I don't see how anyone who watches that footage could say otherwise.

Thanks hoss. The suspension for tripping thing is in to stop the chance of serious leg/foot injuries and there was clearly no risk of that. It pretty much looks incidental. With MJ down, Hayden not 100% either, losing Dodd would be huge. This better get cleared.

Unfortunately it did look intentional but it certainly wasn't worth a report let alone a week. Unfortunately the inflexibility of the points system force it to be a week rather then someone realising how ridiculous it is.

For a change, this is worth an appeal.

They won't care, precedence or other incidents are irrelevant in the AFL's eyes

I think you may be right as they consider tripping very serious compared to some higher impact incidents.

Didn't our own Michael Johnson get rubbed out for longer because he couldn't reduce the record for having a clean record as he hadn't played long enough?

Oh and by the way it's a ridiculous charge, as bad as the stomping, Chick's report on Josh and even the mother of all Heath Black slinging someone over the boundary line which was considered rough play

This tribunal system is the worst thing Dimwitriou and his dodgy mates have done to the AFL (and I reckon they've pretty much destroyed the game in their time). All it takes is some poor guy (eg Johnno) to cop one dodgy decision and you are up against it for anything in the next few years. Anything that's only worth a reprimand sees you suspended, and for every suspension you get, you get points added on, leading to a longer suspension and so on. If you wear Purple, you've also got the added pressure of every single contact you make with an opponent being scrutinised every week, and if they can't find anything that would see everyone else suspended, they make it up (like Solly in round 1, or Doddy this week).

It is great news Dodd has got off but I am the only one here shaking my head thinking "why are we even at the tribunal".

Is our game the first one scrutinised each round.

Its not a " we are being picked on mentality" because they still make astonishing decisions against other clubs, who would have thought that MJ would have got 4 weeks for his "arsebutt to the upper torso" last year?
