1.11 to 8.2 in the second half. It's very nice to be on the good side of that. They really should have put us away but we just kept taking our chances and keeping the pressure on

Love the mentality of Lewis and Sellwood. So often we get bullied by this team, good to have guys ready to give some back. Have loved Croft's pressure and efforts since coming back in, he'll have a long career with that work rate and I wonder if that's what he was asked to work on when he was sent back down. Hynes work rate on the wing was excellent and probably his best game at the level, I can see why Bevo keeps backing him in

6 games this year by less than a goal. We haven't always looked convincing at the death but thought we were tonight. Lobb even being a goal keeper at the end which we never seemed to have. They've clearly been working on the late game scenarios and the experience of the past few week has clearly paid dividends

It was a great win. Some young players standing up was good to see. But we should still be realistic about our coach ffs.

Did he make the hawks kick 1.11 in the second half? When 3.9 would’ve won it? Come on.

Newcombe with 37 and probably two votes, three if they had won.

This is why we continue to be mid-table and not contending. Sugar rushes of these wins covering over the issues.

I don't really have a dog in the fight about Bevo. He's our most successful coach ever, we were pumping teams before everybody got injured. I think he struggles with adapting game plans on game day, but I'm not a footy expert so I don't know whether there's more under the hood there. Hawthorn definitely botched some kicks tonight, but at the same time, a team kicking a lot of points is also a result of a gameplan to push people into awkward positions/defenders rushing behinds.

At half time. Looking like the same old. Getting physically bullied.

That second half? Was the most heart and character I've seen this club play with in a long time. We've had some good wins, but that second half was something.

Couldn't be more proud of them. Pushed them around, let the crowd know after we scored goals, got in their face when mouthy. Came in to fight for one another. Turned their own arrogance back onto them.

Lewis got the first contested mark on Sicily from anyone all season, followed up by a HTB. Both ruined by the umpires.
He played a fantastic negating game on Sicily & got his goal, could easily have had a couple more.
He really does give his all.
And gets right in their faces.
