Not just saying this because of his terrific final act, but I will happily eat humble pie about Coffield. Really didn’t see what he offered. This year he’s been building and he’s really now repaying the faith the coaches have in him. Great to see and long may it continue.

Yeah agree I have really liked how he has played in recent times. Much improved.

For a bloke who was a converted forward and was down back for his kicking his actual defensive stuff is more than impressive.

Just because he doesn't physically defend an opposition forward in a contest doesn't mean he doesn't find ways to prevent the opposition from scoring.

His reading of the play and positioning led to a game-high 11 intercept possessions, meaning he isn't just a kick-in merchant.

Thought it was interesting Bevo got a bit fired up in the press conference talking about McNeil. Said it pisses him off the treatment he gets from our supporters and he's integral as a versatile glue guy on field.

I'm happy we turned it around against Hawthorn but McNeil will never be nothing other than a plodder.... Might be a great team man but if we had a full strength side he would never be in the seniors

I didn't count them all, but a fair amount of Hawks behinds would have been touched or a result of our defensive pressure. Or forcing them into trickier shots. I don't remember them missing too many easy set shots.

The two missed set shots I remembered were both Meek kicking out on the full

Arty got himself into some great positions, streaming forward and then inexplicably turned it over. At least 3 times I can recall somewhat reluctantly. Is it a composure thing or needs an extra step or two to balance up? Or is he trying too hard to be creative. I'm not sure which but if he can tidy that up could become extremely damaging

Or when he went on that run, kept running until he was completely free, and once he was free THATS when he decides to panic kick it straight down Hawthodns throat. Could have kept running.

It will come with experience. Or it won’t.

In response to a caller talking about them being arrogant Finey said something like they like to drink their own bathwater, but they’re the ones pissing in it and seem to like the taste.
He also shut down any Hawks callers talking about that mark not being paid costing them the game saying how we were also dudded up the other end as well.

Ah I disagree. He is fiercely loyal of his boys and McNeil while being a whipping boy, is a good team man and a guy Bevo can just give specific defensive or running roles to that aren't pretty. VDM is a similar one.
