My Jack who went over the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday at 16 years old. Will never forget you boy and hope that when it's my turn you'll be there waiting for me. 20231116_154827.jpg

Aaw I can tell from the photo he was a good boy.
16 years is actually a great innings, but I know it’s still not long enough.
Science should be spending more time, money and resources on getting dogs to live longer.

I lost my last one just over a year ago. Still not over it, but it definitely gets better with time.

Has just been a week with our first time dog, a girl Cavoodle pup

I don't like it. It's stupid and annoying and making my life a misery. What kind of an animal tries to eat it's own shit?

Google tells me they live about 13-15 years 😔
Hang in there….puppies are VERY hard work, especially the first couple of weeks/months.
We had discussions about if we had made the wrong decision soon after getting a puppy…now we can’t live without her.

I find there’s generally two years where they act like dickheads. We’re about to get a new puppy but have made a decision that we’ll take them to puppy school. Hopefully that cuts down some of the dickheadedness.

We recently rescued a 9 year old Jack Russell, to go with our 16 year old JR. (also a rescue)
He has fitted in really well, which is surprising considering the life he had before. Was found in a carpark, in a bad way - under weight, coat in terrible condition, arthritis, etc, etc - but luckily his general health was recoverable. Owners were contacted, but said they didn't want him back.
Both are very active, for their ages, but once 9pm hits, it's all over!

Awesome work.

I bloody love Jack Russell terriers.

This is our two year old named Doug (he likes sleeping on our Murray River Retriever).

hi guys,
i just have a question for anyone who has gone through the painful process of euthanizing their dog and did anything help at all with coping.

Our poor 10 year old girl has been sick for a month now with Cushings, pancreatitis and arthritis which we have been medicating for the pain and had 3 of her 4 steroid shots to help with arthritis. To me it finally looked like she was showing signs of improvement but a couple days ago my brother found an infection on her this week that spread so fast to the bone it’s only going to get worse. I’ve been balling my eyes at work with sunglasses on for over a month and i’m unsure how i’m going to handle putting her to sleep on saturday. It was my brother who rescued her 8 years ago and even more distraught then i am.

It’s the hope that has always caused me the most pain. i will attach a photo when i get home because it keeps saying file is too large.
