Dom Sheed entering our midfield makes us elite, if the past 3 weeks are anything to go by.

Simply put, Sheed's performance against Adelaide yesterday really shone a light on what's to come. His 30 disposals (15 kicks & 15 handballs) were excellent, and probably one of main reasons we broke the 400 barrier.

A toast to the future Brownlow medalist!

Pretty sure there's already a thread for this

I think he's the perfect compliment to Shuey. With Priddis on the inside and Gaff on the outside, we seemed to lack balance without anyone else who can win the hard ball and break the lines and really hurt the opposition with their delivery. Sheed seems to be the perfect fit with a lot of versatility like Shuey so that Gaff and Priddis can just focus on their respective strengths and not have us too unbalanced.

he operated 57% DE which was the only negative IMO. Other than that he was very good. Last year what i loved about him was that when he play that outside role when we were flying but when the midfield was challnged, he would go in and win a ton of CP's and clearances. We just lack those sorts of players

In the third quarter it felt like he was everywhere. Really good asset for our midfield heading into finals. Just makes us a tad less predictable.

I'm one to not put too much expectation and hope into players coming back from long injury layoffs and limited pre-seasons. But he seems to not give a shit about that. I'm stoked.
Totally expected his slow first couple of games back but has been building beautifully since.

A couple of weeks ago I did say that while I hated to put pressure on a 3rd year kid coming off no pre-seasons and missing most of the season, he really could be the vital ingredient to taking our midfield to the next level. Just gives us another class rotation through the midfield. This is so obvious.

But I feel there seems to be another benefit to his inclusion which is less obvious. Not only is he taking a bit of pressure off Shuey, Priddis, Gaff etc, but his presence is improving the forward line too. Is it coincidence that LeCras is playing less of that mid/spitter role and is playing more of that forward role he is clearly better at? Also, I haven't noticed Hill and Cripps having to drop back as deep defensively either which, when we win defensive ball, seems to give us just a wave of options to go through and makes us look like we're running and spreading like crazy and have so many options forward of the ball.

His inclusion has had a huge structural impact.

57% i can live with because Sheed always makes the right choice. If there is no obvious target in close he goes for meterage which is always the right choice. Dom "the right choice" "shredder" Sheed.
